The executive fought the urge to rub his eyes. He wondered if he was seeing things.
Was this real?
The CEO of Henderson Group was married, and he was clearly smitten.
"No need. She won't be coming by for now."
The executive was quick to catch on. Almost immediately, he leaned in.
"Ah... Did you guys hit a rough patch? You've been so swamped with work, especially with those overseas
meetings. Maybe spend more twith her? Feelings can grow if you give them time."
As he spoke, he snuck a peek at the non the marriage certificate. He wanted to know what kind of woman
had managed to win over a man like Ethan.
However, the second he saw the name, he flinched. This time, he actually rubbed his eyes hard.
Wait a minute. That nlooked familiar... and so did the woman in the photo.
Grace Lambert?
Practically everyone at Henderson Group knew who that was.
Back when Grace worked here, she stuck to Yancey like glue. She used to be head over heels for Yancey, and if
any woman got too close to him, she would chase them off without hesitation and then go right back to doting
on him.
Grace was undeniably beautiful. Even celebrities didn't compare to her looks. However, the way she constantly

The executive thought that maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him and maybe it was just someone with the
sname. Yet that photo couldn't lie, and that was definitely Grace's face. Moreover, she didn't look happy in
the photo.
Ironically, it was Ethan's expression that carried a hint of gentleness in the photo.
The executive wished he could unsee it. Honestly, why did he even look? He just felt incredibly conflicted now.
Why did it have to be Grace, of all people, who ended up with Ethan?
He sighed inwardly. Then, he backed away silently, pretending to have seen nothing.
Ethan kept away the marriage certificate. In a flat tone, he responded, "I'll make sure to spend twith her."
But what if she didn't want him around? Maybe she would feel better and more at ease if he stayed out of her
way.
Uriah Stewart was a man in his 40s. He was the executive who had been talking to Ethan. He looked utterly
embarrassed now.
"I'm sure anyone would be charmed if you make tfor them, Mr. Henderson," Uriah said. "Anyway, I've got a
few meetings later, but here are today's reports for you to review. And congratulations on your
marriage! Should we send out schocolates to the whole company? | know a few good places that make
them. I'll have them deliver stoday so that everyone can share in the joy." s
Anyone who had climbed this high knew how to play the game. Even if Uriah didn't like Grace, he still had to
make sure everything that was supposed to be done was done. She was Ethan's wife, after all.
As expected, Ethan gave a quiet nod and glanced his way.
"That's very thoughtful of you, Mr. Stewart."
Uriah was overjoyed. Ethan never handed out compliments. At best, you'd get a quiet grunt after landing a major
deal.
Uriah straightened his back right away, practically tearing up. "On it! I'll handle everything immediately."
Just recently, the executives had been quietly speculating if Ethan would stay single forever with how reserved
he was. No one saw this marriage coming.
Uriah was in high spirits as he stepped out. Then, he ran straight into Yancey, who was coming up.
Yancey recognized most of Henderson Group's executives. When he bumped into Uriah, he greeted him politely,
"Hello, Mr. Stewart."
Uriah stiffened. After what he had just found out earlier, he couldn't even bring himself to meet Yancey's gaze. It
had been a long tsince Yancey last cto the company. Because he and Ethan had clashed badly before. s
of Grace
The only reason Yancey showed up today was to confront Ethan himself. He wanted to know if Ethan had hidden
Grace somewhere. Why had Grace been missing for a whole week, otherwise? She wasn't even home.
He had even gone to ask Liam, but the latter seemed to know even less about Grace's whereabouts. Besides,
Lian was barely holding it together. He spent his days drowning in work or zoning out like a shell of himself. It
was like someone had drained the life out of him. s
After a polite nod, Yancey marched straight toward Ethan's office and threw the door open without a second
thought. "Did you stash Grace somewhere, Ethan?" Uriah straightened up as the words slipped through the small
gap of the door that had been left ajar. For the sake of Henderson Group's stability, he'd better take this secret to
the grave.
