Chapter 1431: He was the man who could make Rachel's heart race with just a glance.
He was the one she had quietly admired since her days of youthful longing.
After the meal with the Ford family, Corrine received a message from Kinsley. After a brief exchange, she took her leave.
As always, Jules followed her to the gates.

Jules instinctively reached into his pocket for a cigarette but stopped midway, his fingers curling around it as he recalled Corrine's distaste for the smell. "May 20th," he replied.
Corrine thought the timing was ideal-it would be warm by then.
"Where do you plan to live after the wedding?" she asked, remembering that Jules owned several properties. "Next door," he said.
Next to the Ford family's mansion was the Tivilla district.
As they chatted, Corrine reached her car. Before starting the engine, she paused, rolled down the window, and gave one final reminder. "Rachel's actually really kind. If you keep wearing that stone face, you'll end up hurting her." Whether her words struck a chord or simply bounced off him was unclear. He waved and said in a steady voice, "I know what to do. Drive safe." The way he said it made Corrine think he didn't mean a word of it.
He knows what to do? That wasn't going to happen. If he truly understood, Rachel wouldn't be the one looking hurt.
The car took Corrine straight to the hotel. She stood outside Kinsley's room and knocked repeatedly, only to be met with silence.
Just as she reached for her phone to call, the door finally clicked open. Kinsley stood there, her face pale, and her bangs stuck to her forehead with sweat.
Corrine's eyes widened in alarm.
"What happened to you?" she asked, noticing Kinsley's knees wobbling and her body threatening to collapse. Corrine lunged forward, grabbing her arm for support. "Stay with me-we're going to the hospital. Now." Thirty minutes later, they arrived.
The doctor examined Kinsley with meticulous care, then turned to m Corrine with a look that suggested he was hesitant but eager to speak.
Corrine stepped outside under the pretense of getting Water. As expected, the doctor waited just outside the door.
His voice was calm as he addressed her. "Miss Holland, are you aware Bare that the patient has a bullet lodged in her spine?"
