Chapter 1492:
If anything happened to Corrine today, he would never forgive himself.
As they burst through the building entrance, a startling scene unfolded before them—Corrine stood with one foot
pressed firmly against Dewey's chest.
Dewey writhed on the ground, his face flushed crimson as violent coughs wracked his body. Between desperate
gasps for air, he managed to sputter, “Corrine, I'm your father. How dare you lay a hand on me! Aren’t you afraid
of karma catching up with you?” Rage seethed through his every word.
Corrine’s lips curved into a radiant smile, her eyes twinkling with mischievous delight. “Don’t you worry about
me. I'm certain a wicked man like you will face your karma soon enough,” she countered with unsettling
composure.
Dewey glared at Corrine, speechless and seething. After what felt like an eternity, he finally hissed, “You
wretched woman!”
“Take my warning to heart.” Corrine’s eyes narrowed dangerously, a cold glint flickering in her penetrating gaze.

one for patience. | don’t enjoy repeating myself, but for my mother’s sake, I'll say it once more. Don’t provoke
me. The Holland family hasn't cthis far by accident.”
With that final warning, she lifted her foot and strode away.
As she turned, surprise briefly registered on her face at the sight of Nate and Jules standing there.
Before she could question their presence, Nate rushed forward and pulled her protectively into his arms,
examining her with frantic concern. “Are you hurt?”
“No,” Corrine replied.
Nate's lips compressed into a thin line. His chiseled features hardened to ice, as though a layer of winter frost
had crystallized across his face. He cast a piercing glance toward Dewey, his gaze sharp as a blade, cutting
straight through to the man’s core.
Dewey's heart quivered in his chest. His stance wavered, making him feel as though he stood upon shifting
clouds, one trembling step away from plummeting into an endless void.
Saul, Nate's trusted aide, immediately recognized the silent command in his employer's eyes. With the slightest
gesture, he signaled the men positioned behind him to advance and deliver Dewey a much-deserved lesson.
Corrine caught their movement and gently tugged at Nate's sleeve. “It’s all taken care of,” she murmured. “Let's
go.”
At her words, Saul and the others
