Chapter 951
With love and comfort by her side, Evadne soon fell asleep again in Thaddeus's
arms.
When she woke up again, daylight filled the room. A gentle breeze caressed the curtains by the window, and the
lazy sunlight bathed her in its warmth. The room was filled with an intimate ambiance, mingled with the unique
fragrance of Helgen's flora.
What a beautiful day.
Yet, she couldn't share this enchanting, serene beauty with her beloved.
Evadne sighed softly, feeling a twinge of sorrow.
After getting up and freshening up, she sat on the balcony, basking in the sunlight, lost in thought.

"What's on your mind, kiddo?" Debby approached with a tray of homemade breakfast, her smile beaming as she
checked on her sister.
"Sis!"
Evadne looked at the table laden with delicious food. Normally a foodie, she found herself without an appetite
but still managed a forced smile. "Wow... it smells amazing. | can tell at a glance this is your cooking.
You're a culinary genius; your skills could rival Myra's! Ever since you married into Helgen, I've been missing out.
It's been ages since | had your honey-glazed ham and your famous grain-fed fish."
"Once Thaddeus, big brother, Elvis, and your Darcy are free, I'll cook for you all. I've already asked the kitchen to
prepare the ingredients, fresh fish included." Debby was eager to start.
As the first lady, she always presented herself as mature, composed, and elegant in public.
Only around her family did she show her lively and spirited side.
"Sis, you're talented and wise. Darcy is lucky to have you."
Evadne picked up a sandwich, barely managing a small bite, "If | were a man, I'd marry you in a heartbeat, and
no one could compete with me."
"If you were a man, you'd still be my brother, and the Ashbourne family would be in quite a scandal!"
The sisters laughed together, but Evadne's sandwich remained mostly untouched. "Evadne, not feeling hungry?"
Debby, who shared a close bond with her, saw through the gloom in her eyes and gently hugged her from
behind, "Don't worry. They've made thorough arrangements. All the police forces have been directed towards the
wedding venue, and the nearby streets have been blocked and cleared to prevent any harm to innocent
bystanders."
"A wedding venue?"
Evadne's brows furrowed as she clutched her sister's hand, "In such a sensitive time, why would Avery plan such
a conspicuous wedding for one of his men?"
Something felt off, and a sense of unease settled in her heart.
Debby held her sister's hand tightly, her eyes flickering with determination, her mood somewhat somber:
"Such boldness and madness fit Avery's character."
"But that's not the Avery | know."
Evadne blinked in surprise, "When he was in ElImsworth, he was discreet and unassuming, never dirtying his own
hands, yet he managed to eliminate his brother and sister, and even Mr. Chambers fell because of him, always
emerging unscathed.
He's cunning and ruthless, never putting himself in such an obvious position. Moreover, he always portrayed
himself as genteel and benevolent in public, a stark contrast to his true nature. This arrogance doesn't seem like
him." "But in Helgen, he's committed every conceivable atrocity, utterly lawless."
Debby's gaze hardened, still haunted by the past, "Helgen's dark underbelly nurtured his evil. Away from here,
back in our homeland, he becomes the impeccable Mr. Chambers, naturally adopting a low profile, biding his
time, growing his influence in the shadows, ready to eventually take over the entire Chambers Group."
Evadne found her sister's reasoning sound, yet the unease lingered.
