Chapter 954
Elvis knew he was in deep trouble. Being a top-notch secret agent, he had faced countless dangers, but this
time, it felt different. It was Elsie, his last lifeline, now turned into a hostage. The irony of it all was laughable; the
woman he professed to love was now a pawn in this deadly game.
"Elsie...don't worry about me...go!" Her eyes brimmed with tears, her voice resolute despite her obvious fear.
"If you lay a finger on her, | swear, I'll make sure you'll wish you were never born!" Elvis's eyes blazed with fury,
his body tensed for action.
"Ellie's mine now, we're married! She's my wife, my woman!" Harvey, with a crazed look in his eyes, tightened
his grip on Elsie, causing her face to turn a shade of red. "We could've had it all, run away and lived the high life.
But you, you had to ruin everything. It's all on you!"
"Harvey... wake up... It's all a setup by Avery. He played us both, using our wedding to draw the fire away from
him so he could escape scot-free. You think you're his right hand, but you're just another disposable pawn to
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇthim!" Elsie struggled to speak, her forehead covered in sweat.
"Enough! | know all this already! You think I'm an idiot?!" Harvey yelled, losing his cool. "What are you waiting
for? Kill him!"
The Chambers Group, led by Avery, didn't usually take orders from Harvey. But with Elvis disrupting their plans,
they felt the urgency of the situation and drew their weapons, ready to take Elvis down.
Just then, Thaddeus and Cassius burst in. Dressed in black tactical gear and bulletproof vests, their steely gazes
and firm postures were enough to intimidate anyone. They took down the Chambers Group's men with precise
shots, showcasing their bravery and skill in combat.
In the midst of the chaos, Harvey, with Elsie in tow, made a dash for the back door of the church.
"Ellie!" Elvis shouted, chasing after them without a second thought.
The police arrived soon after, surrounding the remaining members of the Chambers Group, capturing them all.
"Elvis went after them alone!" Thaddeus's brows furrowed in concern.
"The area outside is swarming with SWAT. Harvey's got nowhere to run," Cassius remarked, his expression grave.
"But who knows what that madman might do to Elsie. We might need a sniper ready."
Thaddeus nodded, his eyes narrowing. "I'm on it."
At the presidential residence, under the bright, beautiful sun, Debby, wearing rain boots and an apron, picked
fresh flowers from the blooming garden to arrange in vases inside.
Evadne stood outside the flowerbeds, soaking in the sunlight, trying to calm her uneasy heart. Suddenly, her
phone vibrated. A mysterious number, and it was local.
A bad feeling crept up her spine, cold and sinister.
She took the call, moving away from her sister.
"Evadne," the voice was as smooth as ever, yet it sent chills down her spine.
"I know you're listening," Avery said, with a laugh that was both restrained and dark. "Evadne, | miss you."
His voice was hoarse, almost a whisper, making her shiver despite the warm sun. "I bet you're thinking of me
right now."
