Chapter 738
St. Ritz.
Zachary was discussing a potential partnership with a business associate. Before they could finalize anything,
Vivian suddenly appeared. When she recognized who the business associate was, she smiled sarcastically.
The businessman looked awkwardly between Vivian and Zachary, surprised that Vivian had managed to find
them here.
"Mr. Lanchester, | don't understand. Our negotiations were going so well, then you suddenly rejected Wilson
Group's partnership. You wouldn't answer our calls, and when we cto your home, you wouldn't even see us.
So this is why-you found someone more suitable? Zachary, do you really need to poach my clients?" She looked
at Zachary with disbelief.
In the uncomfortable silence that followed, Zachary calmly took a contract from his briefcase, signed his name
on the party A line with his pen, and slid it across to the man opposite him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMr. Lanchester wiped his sweaty forehead with a handkerchief, pulled the contract toward him, and took out his
own pen to sign.
Before he could finish, the contract was violently snatched away and torn to shreds.
"Mr. Lanchester, | need to discuss something with Zachary, so please... get out." Veins bulged on Vivian's
forehead as she struggled to control her rage.
Mr. Lanchester had barely finished wiping his sweat when cold perspiration broke out again. He nervously looked
toward Zachary, not daring to leave without his permission.
Steven, wearing a chef's hat, had just finished serving the final dish. Seeing the three of them, he quickly
assessed the situation, noting the torn papers on the floor.
"Mr. Lanchester, please cwith me. That contract is ruined, but luckily | have another copy in my office. Why
don't you sign it first, and I'll have our Mr. Reynolds sign it later and deliver it to you."
"Yes, yes, of course." Mr. Lanchester hurriedly followed Steven out.
Zachary calmly refilled his glass with water. "Miss Wilson, since we've already canceled our engagement, please
addressprofessionally as Mr. Reynolds. I'd hate to cause any misunderstandings."
Vivian laughed bitterly. "Misunderstandings? Whose misunderstandings? Or rather, who in this city are you most
afraid of misunderstanding? If it's Sarah, she's been misunderstanding things for three years already. Isn't it a bit
late to worry about that now?"
Zachary remained silent.
"Say something! Why didn't you discuss canceling our engagement withfirst? Why announce it directly? Do
you know how much this will impact Wilson Group?"
Zachary slammed his glass on the table. "What about Mia? Do you understand how much damage your behind-
the-scenes scheming has done to her?"
"Zachary, | know you're angry about this, but you can't just listen to Tracy White's side of the story-"
"Shut up," Zachary said coldly.
He suddenly stood and moved closer to Vivian, his eyes reflecting profound weariness.
Even his tone conveyed unmistakable exhaustion. "Is it just this one time? You think | don't know about
everything else? My past silence doesn't mean I'll overlook things forever. Vivian, every action has
consequences. If the law can't punish you, I'll be watching you forever."
"Aren't you afraid I'll"
"Afraid of what? That you'll threaten the people around me? Surely you understand that the strick only
works once? You haven't forgotten how our engagement cabout in the first place, have you?" Zachary's
words fell distinctly into Vivian's ears.
