Chapter 1242 Don't Worry Too Much
Alec drove slowly, and the car soon arrived at his house. He and Jenny had been living
together for some time now, and their life was not much different from that of a married
couple. As usual, Alec went straight to the kitchen to start cooking when they got home,
while Jenny played with her phone in the living room. Life was quite laid back these days.
She'd thought about helping Alec in the kitchen, but he would kick her out every time,
saying she was a troublemaker. After several attempts, Jenny wisened up and didn't even
attempt to enter the kitchen; she just sat and waited for the food.
While she was reading the news, Stephanie called, her voice full of tears. It made Jenny,

the police station, they dismissed me. I'm worried that something might have happened to

Jenny immediately took it seriously. "Don't worry, I'll ask around for you. Maybe Leonard is
on a secret mission and can't let you know about it."
"Okay, please help me ask around. I don't need to know what he's doing; I just want to
make sure he's safe," Stephanie said, sobbing.
Although they hadn't known each other for very long, Stephanie could feel Leonard's
sincerity toward her. She earnestly hoped she could end up with Leonard and settle down
with him. Because of that, she gave her all to their relationship.
After ending the call with Stephanie, Jenny contacted her acquaintances to inquire about
Leonard's situation. At first, she didn't take it seriously, but her expression faltered when
the details of his mission came back.
Alec happened to come out right then and asked, "What's the matter?"
"I'm fine, but Leonard is in trouble," Jenny said. "Just now, Stephanie called and said she
couldn't contact him. When I called, I found out that Leonard disappeared while on a
mission."
"Disappeared?" Alec frowned. This was not good news for him, too, as Leonard was the
person he wanted to promote within the police force.
Jenny nodded, feeling a little frustrated. "A group of people suddenly took him away. But
they were all masked, so it's unclear who they were. Despite that, it was clear that they
were after him."
Alec walked to Jenny's side and patted her shoulder gently to comfort her after hearing
what she said. "Don't worry too much. I'll have someone look into it. Nothing bad will
happen to him."
"I'm worried about Stephanie." She and Leonard weren't very close, but she was worried
because of Stephanie.
Stephanie finally decided to let go of everything and move forward. If something were to

"It's okay. Leonard isn't your average guy. He should be fine," Alec said as he got up to
make a phone call.
Jenny calmed herself down and decided to tell Stephanie what she'd just learned.
Although she knew it would make her more worried, Jenny knew more than anything she
couldn't lie to her best friend and betray her trust under any circumstance.
Stephanie was surprisingly calm after hearing what Jenny had to say. She asked, ’Did you

"For now, that seems to be the case," Jenny replied affirmatively. After that, she added,
"But don't worry too much. Alec and I have already sent people to look for him, and with
the help of the police, we'll definitely find him."
