He laughed, like a madman, and then fixed his vicious gaze back on her.
“All because of you, my hands are ruined, my legs are crippled, even my mouth is destroyed. How
should I thank you?”
By the end, his tone became heavier, as if he wanted to tear Eleanor to pieces.
Eleanor trembled in fear at his appearance.
“Mr. Caporal, I don’t understand.”
“Don’t understand?”
Josef raised an eyebrow, and his smile became even more chilling and terrifying.
The night you gave me the contract, I encountered a group of people, their leader wearing a golden
mask.”
“He said something then, but I was in and out of consciousness due to the torture and didn’t hear it
clearly.”
“After regaining my senses, I tried hard to grasp that bit of memory, and luckily, I remembered.”
