Chapter 108: Dylan's Leftovers.
"lvy? Easy on him, please Monica said from the other side of the door, her voice soft and pleading.
Ivy leaned against the door, holding her breath so she wouldn't be heard.
"lvy" Monica said again. When she realized Ivy wasn't going to respond, she walked away.
Ivy sighed, emotions racing within her. She was angry, jealous, but suddenly regret had joined the emotions. She
moved away from the door and sat on the bed, her heart pounding with more regret.
It was dumb of her to throw Silas's stuff out, and now that sudden decision was biting her from the inside.
She stood up and started to unpack her bag. As she took out her Pear laptop, the regret heightened in her chest.
She hadn'
1 even thanked him for the gifts. Even now, she hadn't even given him a chance to explain
"lvy?" Silas's voice broke her thoughts. "Please open the door"
His sad tone finally got to her, and she walked to the door and opened it.
Silas walked in looking exhausted. "Hey, he said softly.
"Hey, she replied. Her cheeks burned with heat as she took a step back.
1 am sorry | clate, sorry about dinner," he apologized. "I promise to make it up to you."
Dinner was not the reason for her anger, she was mad he spent a day with Kim without calling. "I called and
texted you. You didn't reply,"
"I don't know where my phone is," Silas replied. "I have been looking all over for it."
She raised her brow, finding it hard to believe him. But she nodded. "Okay."
He stepped closer, and she could tell he wanted to touch her, but she stepped back, tucking a strand of hair
behind her ear. "How is Kim now?"
"Good," Silas replied with a sigh. "She had surgery."

Her stomach dropped. "Oh, I'm sorry. How did that even happen?"
Silas shrugged. "I don't know. Monica called me. By the t| got here, the ambulance was already here to help
her."
Yet, he followed her to the hospital and stayed for hours.
"Cool" she muttered. "Where is she now? How is she?"
"She is recovering. She... is back home," he said, his voice dropping as he stuttered. His eyes shone with
remorse as he tried to reach her again.
But Ivy stepped back quickly, avoiding him. "What do you mean she's back home?"
The remorse in his eyes deepened. "She will be here for the tbeing till she feels better."
Ivy gasped before she could stop herself. She shook her head, moving swiftly to the window. She couldn't believe
he brought her back.
"I know it sounds weird," he said, guilt filling his tone. "But | can't have news getting out that Kim was injured in
my house. The media would paint awful pictures."
She turned to him in disbelief. "But you'll have your ex-fiance and your wife under the sroof?" she asked,
hearing the pain in her voice.
Silas stepped closer still trying to touch her. "It's complicated, | know. But we can control the narrative here.
Nobody would find out, besides it's just till she fully recovered."
Ivy's stomach knotted with disgust. She couldn't believe the nonsense Silas was spilling. He was keeping Kim
because of the media? That didn't make sense.
Suddenly the unpleasant truth hit her. Silas wasn't over Kim, that would be the only reason he was doing this.
She turned to him, her pain turning into anger.
“That's great,” she said angrily. “I already packed your bag so you can physically keep her company as well."
Silas gasped, his hazel eyes widened. "lvy-"
"No," she interrupted him, raising a finger. "She needs you. She's your guest, so go to her."
He paused, his eyes glinting with pain, but she didn't care; she was in pain too. She looked away, gesturing to
the door.
"Good night, Silas." Her voice betrayed her, filling with hurt, but she turned her back to him before he could play
on the emotions.
"Ivy..." he trailed off, his voice thick with sadness.
She stood her ground Wagen her shoulders squared so he could see the west backing down from her decision.

These weren't tears of sadness, they were tears of pain and anger. She felt sorry that Kim had almost lost her
leg, but she was angry at Siles for making it his business and even angrier at herself for feeling this way
She wiped the bear's away promising herself not to let this get to her. She was a coffract wife, after all, and Silas
had indirectly shown her that
was fresh determination, she took off her clothes and headed to the bathroom for a shower. She was going to
channel her energy into other things-Rita, Geo, and even her business. She wouldn't let this get to her
When she left the bathroom, her thoughts drifted to Rita and the les she had told about Ryan's dad. She had to
know if her cousin was in danger, now that she had met lele Ryan, the definitely had to take care of him
My changed into her pajamas, determined not to think about Silas. She browsed the Intefor a while before
drifting to
sleep
The next morning, even though she woke up feeling better, her heart still tugged at Silas's absence. She missed
him, massed his smile, his cuddles. But when she remembered he probably gave Kim scuddles last night,
the emotions disappeared
"It's going be a great day, she muttered to herself as she got out of bed.
She walked to the closet, picked a bright pink gown and black heels for her day,
then got ready. While she was dressing, her phone buzzed, and she reached for

There were four messages from Silas.
I'm sorry, Ivy."
"This is the detective's number." Followed by a phone number.
"Tim tellsthe office is almost done. How about we throw a huge opening party to celebrate?"
Tm sorry."
She frowned and ignored the messages, returning to get dressed. She wouldn't think of him today. She would
focus on work
When she finished dressing, she took her bag and went downstairs. A part of her wanted to check on Kim, but
another struggled against it. Eventually, she settled for the latter, fearing she might lash out at Kim.
Just as she was about to step out of the house, Rosie called her name.
“uy?”
She turned. "Hey Rosie, she smiled-until confusion replaced it. "What are you doing here?"
Rosie's eyes brightened with a smirk. “I cto see Kim, the almost Mrs Stone." Ivy's cheeks flushed at the jab,
and she tried to steady her nerves. "Oh... nice." "You know," Rosie said, stepping closer, "maybe it's tfor you
to move out." Ivy's heart plummeted. "Move out?"
"I'm not saying you should leave the marriage. Oh no," Rosie laughed. "I'm just saying you should give Kim and
Silas sspace. They need tto bond and work things out.”
Ivy's heart tightened with pain, and she could tell Rosie saw it. Even though she didn't care if Silas ended up with
Kim, she wasn't about to let Rosie speak to her
this way.
She straightened up, keeping her voice calm. "I didn't know Silas would settle for Dylan's leftovers, but hey, |
wish them all the best."
Then she turned towards the door, leaving Rosie too stunned to speak.
