Jeffrey paused.

Seeing he'd struck a nerve, Gregory kept going. “Ms. Jensen's friends will definitely say she made the right

move. They'll be like, ‘He already looks awful now that they're divorced.””

“If you've got that much free time, I'll call your parents and have them set you up on sblind dates,” Jeffrey

said flatly.

Gregory quickly replied, “Not bored, no need.”

Jeffrey didn’t say anything else. He just lowered his gaze and went back to work.

It was past midnight again. Gregory called Stanley. “Mr. Garcia, you got a minute?”

Stanley said, “I'm listening.”

“Mr. Hanson's been working nonstop lately. He's barely getting three or four hours of sleep a night,” Gregory

said, his worry clear. “Could you maybe talk ssense into him?”

There was a brief pause on the line.

After about ten seconds, Stanley’s voice cthrough again. “Is he eating properly?”

Gregory answered truthfully, “His meals are regular.”

He cats on time, puts in extra hours at work, and goes to the gym upstairs for an hour every afternoon.

His routine is almost the sas when Ms. Jensen was around, but now he’s even more focused on work and

hardly ever talks-it’s like he’s a machine running on a set program.

“Then just leave him be,” Stanley said without hesitation. “It's not like he hasn't done this before.”

“He used to be able to handle anything back when he was younger,” Gregory said, catching Stanley's drift right

away. “But now that he’s pushing thirty, I'm seriously worried his body can’t keep up like before.”

“Even if he was fifty, he'd still be stronger and better at dealing with stress than you,” Stanley replied in his

usual deadpan way. “If he wants to pull extra hours, let him. If you want to clock out on time, just say so-he’s not

gonna make a big deal out of it.”

Gregory couldn’t help feeling complicated about all this.

He pretty much had nothing left to do these days. He literally just watched Mr. Hanson work overtand made

sure he got his three meals.

Honestly, he kind of wished Mr. Hanson would give him something to actually do.

“You're really not gonna ccheck on him?” Gregory pressed.

“No. Still haven't forgiven him for last time,” Stanley grumbled, sounding a bit petty. “Besides, you really think

he’d listen toif | showed up?”

Gregory glanced over at the Executive Office.

He had a point.

Even so, Gregory couldn't help feeling unsettled.

After hanging up, Stanley still called Riley. There was barely a slim chance Jeffrey would listen to him, but maybe

Riley could actually get through to the guy.

Sure, he was mad, but no way could he just watch Jeffrey run himself into the ground.

Sas always, Riley just shrugged it off.

Stanley had no clue what she was thinking. “Seriously, you're not even a little worried he might burn out or

something?”

“Rebecca went through the smess two months ago,” Riley replied, lounging in her chair like nothing could

faze her. “She had to commute, juggle work, check on her mentor at the hospital, and look after the kid all by

herself.”

Stanley paused.

Riley said carelessly, “Nobody seemed worried about her at the time, did they?”

“Not really my place to care about her, being Jeffrey’s buddy,” Stanley said, just tossing out an excuse.

“As long as Jeffrey’s still alive, don’t bother me,” Riley said breezily, sounding totally unconcerned. “If he croaks,

letknow when the funeral is-I'll csend him off.”

Stanley: “...”

Stanley finally saw it for himself.

She truly didn’t care whether Jeffrey lived or died.

‘Frankly, Riley couldn’t care less about whether Jeffrey lived or died-what really mattered to her was what

Rebecca was going through.’ Riley mused.

Back when Rebecca was under Jeffrey’s wing, she’d never had to deal with the mess and chaos of the world. Now

she was out there alone, having to fend off all the cutthroats in Honnala. As her mentor’s sole disciple, Riley

figured it was on her to look out for her junior.

That very night, Riley packed up and headed for Honnala.

She didn’t bother telling Stanley, and she definitely wasn’t checking in on Jeffrey.

Chapter 250

She showed up at Betonco’s place the next morning Rebecca was a bit surprised to see her, and after a quick

belle, she cut straight to the pain. “Whare up? is something important going on?

Riley sat down across from her. Ever thought about learning hackin

Rebecca paused.

Wait, hacking Rebecca thought, caught off guard.

“You've got a lot on your plate right now. Picking up a new skill could really cin handy, Riley said.

“Sorry, but | really don’t have the tright now, Rebecca said honestly. “I've got to focus on running the

company, sorting out equity, and handling investments”

“No rush, Riley replied, her laid-back vibe making Rebecca feel at ease. “I'm just asking to see if you'd be

interested.”

If Rebecca ever wanted to get into it, Riley would put together a tailor-made tutorial-something just right for

her.

It'd be practical, easy to pick up, and actually useful in everyday situations.

Rebecca opened her mouth, then stalled, not really sure what to say.

Noticing Rebecca was worried, Riley let a faint smile curl at her lips. “Relax, this doesn’t involve Jeffrey. | haven't

had any contact with him since last time.”

Rebecca felt a little more at ease.

“So, you interested?” Riley asked.

“I do,” Rebecca replied honestly-she genuinely wanted to learn.

“Whenever you've wrapped up what your mentor needs from you, just reach out,” Riley said, casting a quick

glance at Rebecca's laptop. “I'll cover and teach you myself.”

Rebecca didn’t turn down the offer. “Alright.”

Riley almost reached out to muss Rebecca's fluffy hair, but remembered at the last second they weren't close

enough for that yet-might coff too familiar. Acting like nothing happened, she stood up. “Alright, I'm

heading out. If anything comes up, just call me.”

“Aren’t you staying for lunch?” Rebecca asked, since she knew Riley and her mom got along well.

“Got serrands to run, so I'll skip,” Riley said, her laid-back outfit making her look effortlessly sharp. “I'll be

in Honnala for a while, so if you need any help, just say the word.”

With that, she didn’t stick around and left.

Amelia and Rebecca walked her out together.

Chapter 250

Once Riley's car disappeared from view, they turned to head back inside. They'd barely taken a couple of steps

when someone called out from behind. “Ms. Jensen, please wait a moment.”

Rebecca and Amelia both turned around and saw Gregory getting out of his car, holding a stack of documents.

Five minutes later, Rebecca and Gregory were sitting together in the study on the second floor.

“You said you had something important to talk toabout. What is it?” Rebecca asked, setting a cup of tea in

front of him, her tone steady.

“This is the property settlement from your divorce agreement with Mr. Hanson,” Gregory said, handing her one

of the documents. “He askedto have you confirm it.”

He was supposed to handle this in a couple of days, but last night, Mr. Hanson overheard his call with Mr. Garcia.

He thought Gregory was being too chatty and kicked him out.

Rebecca took the document and skimmed it.

She was honestly floored by the list in front of her.

After dealing with her mom's savings and the gifts she'd gotten from Mrs. Qin and Mr. Guzman, she figured she

was pretty much past being fazed by money.

But the pile of assets Jeffrey was offering in the divorce still genuinely surprised her.

“No need for this much,” Rebecca refused.

“Besides just the divorce settlement, there's also sstuff Mr. Hanson feels he owes you,” Gregory said, clearly

hoping Rebecca would accept. “He feels pretty bad about all the hassle you had to deal with because of him

lately.”

Rebecca just stared at the list, not saying a word.

Gregory continued, “Mr. Hanson feels like it's the least he can do-after all, you saved his life. A simple apology

doesn’t cut it; he wants to give you something real.”

Even so, Rebecca couldn't help but be shocked. What Jeffrey was offering was seriously way too much.

He was even turning over every bit of liquid cash to her.

On top of all that, there was prreal estate in Jelasburg-luxury villas, all the top vacation spots, and even a

private island.

The only thing off the table were the Hanson Group shares; everything else he could possibly give her was hers

for the taking.
