“Captain, remember when we ventured into the Deadlands last year? There was no trace of this oasis, right?
“It’s mind-boggling how much has transformed in just a year!” the short- haired girl from the Black Scorpion
Squad commented.
Looking at the flourishing vegetation, she found it hard to believe that these tall plants had sprung up so quickly
in the unforgiving desert.
“Maybe it's the earth's crust shifting, causing underground rivers to overflow and shape this landscape,” Garrett
replied. However, his explanation sounded doubtful.
In the tough conditions of the Deadlands, where harsh weather dominated, it was unlikely that abundant
vegetation could thrive, even with enough rain and sunlight.
Yet, to their surprise, a forest appeared in the midst of this arid landscape, seemingly defying nature’s laws.
“Wow, what a hidden gem!” Jackson exclaimed with enthusiasm. “There must be so many treasures inside!”

“Sure, there might be treasures, but there are probably many dangers, too,” Grace warned. “Just be cautious
when entering.”
