Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 85
Rachel took a deep breath and calmed herself down. “Thank you for telling me this, Mrs. Brown.”
Hearing her words, Mrs. Brown was stunned for a moment before she lowered her eyes to hide her
shyness. “I was just saying it casually. I hope you don’t mind me nagging, Miss Grey.”
In fact, Mrs. Brown naturally had a plan in mind. She could tell that David cared about Rachel and also
sensed Rachel’s hesitant attitude toward him. Since that was the case, she was willing to take this
opportunity to matchmake the two,
Hence, she really could not accept Miss Grey’s thanks.
They walked around for a while. Mrs. Brown looked at the time and said, “Miss Grey, it’s time to take
your medicine. Sir specially instructed you to do so.”
“Okay.”
After taking medicine, Rachel returned to her room to rest.
When David returned from outside, he subconsciously searched for Rachel in the living room and

His ordinary tone was like a husband asking about his wife.
Mrs. Brown’s eyes were filled with an ambiguous smile. “Miss Grey is still resting in her room.”
David nodded slightly and said casually, “Remember to prepare a bland diet today.”
Without waiting for Mrs. Brown’s reply, he walked straight toward the stairs.
David loosened his tie and pushed open the door to Rachel’s room.
The room was dark, but his gaze instantly landed on Rachel, who was sleeping quietly on the bed.
Her black hair was scattered on the pillow, and her facial features looked like they had been drawn
carefully by a painter. Even though she slept obediently, it could not hide her soul–stirring beauty.
The collar of her shirt was open, revealing the beautiful curve of her shoulders and neck. A large area
of her fair skin was exposed to the air.
David’s eyes darkened slightly, and there was a faint restless desire in the depths of his eyes.
He casually threw the tie at the end of the bed, then unbuttoned his shirt collar and slowly walked
forward.
He reached out and gently brushed away the hair on her face. Her curly eyelash slowly slid down and
finally landed on her red lips.
The softness that belonged to her kept appearing in his mind.
His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, and his eyes revealed strong desire.
Just as he could not help but lean down to feel the softness again, Rachel suddenly opened her eyes.
What greeted her eyes was David’s face right in front of her. His warm breath sprayed on her face, and
his deep eyes seemed to have lit up with a flame so bright that it was soul–stirring.
Rachel seemed to be scalded. She sprang up from the bed in a panic and shrank back, putting some
distance between them.
A hint of disappointment flashed across David’s eyes. He sat on the bed. “Do you still feel
uncomfortable?”
“Much better.” Rachel raised her hand and tucked her hair behind her ear. Her gaze inadvertently

Mrs. Brown’s words from earlier in the day surfaced in her mind. “It’s really funny that Mr. Jones was
learning to cook porridge from me.” Hence, the cut should have been accidentally left behind
when he was cooking.
She pursed her lips. “Is your hand… all right?”
David glanced at the cut on his hand and said without changing his expression, “I’m not very familiar
with cooking for the first time. It hurt a little at first, but it’s much better now.”
“Do you need me to help you deal with it?” Rachel asked.
In fact, she only said that out of politeness, but David took advantage of it. “If you don’t mind.”
Rachel had to take the first aid kit and focus on applying disinfectant to his cut.
Her movements were very gentle with great care.
David looked at her eyelashes and reached out to touch them gently.
Her soft eyelashes fluttered like frightened butterflies, faintly tickling his fingers.
Rachel looked up at him. She could clearly feel his fingers slowly sliding down the corner of her eyes.
They brushed past her jawline and cupped her face.
“Rae–Rae, I know I’m in your heart.”
It should have been a question, but David blurted it out with unprecedented certainty.
