Chapter 429

Alexander had been staring at the room where Olivia was. He wanted to break in with his inen, but

before he could move, Olivia had already barged into Room 311 with her men.

Seeing this, Alexander stopped in his tracks and frowned.

What was going on?

Bettany stood beside Alexander and scrutinized him. “What’s going on? What’s Olivia up to now?”

Her tone was filled with displeasure. Because Olivia did not win the bid for the Golden Voodoo King,

her plan failed, and Alexander needed to send some people to track down the person who won the bid.

This made Bettany extremely frustrated.

This Olivia was really good at putting on airs. Wasn’t she flaunting herself as an example of filial piety

who wanted to save her grandfather, Isaac? She looked like she was willing to pay any price and do

anything to save him.

In the end, she was unwilling to continue after just 2 billion dollars.

How hypocritical!

“Alexander?” Bettany looked up and spoke to Alexander questioningly.

Alexander was worried that there was a trap. He decided to stand guard outside and wait. Olivia would

come out sooner or later.

After waiting outside for less than half an hour, they saw a group of people surrounding a woman. The

woman’s face was pale, and her clothes were covered in blood. What was even more terrifying was

that her right hand had been severed by someone, revealing her flesh and bones.

Bettany was so frightened that she took a step back and hid behind Alexander. Alexander pondered for

a moment and guessed that Olivia must have fought a fierce battle with the woman.

This was just as well. The woman with the severed hand was severely injured, and Olivia should not be

in much of a better state.

They were waiting for the enemy to become exhausted. The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the

oriole behind it. Now was a good time.

Hence, Alexander gave a wave of his hand and led everyone into the room. Olivia was looking down at

the box in her hand when she saw Alexander and the others who had barged in.

She raised her eyebrows slightly and instantly understood that Room 302, which had competed with

her for the voodoo incense, was Alexander’s room.

Olivia still had a cold expression on her face. The killing intent she had when she

faced Leanna had not completely dissipated. Now, Alexander happened to notice

1. it.

Her expression was cold and her demeanor practically looked razor–sharp, like a sharp sword that had

been unsheathed.

Alexander’s heart skipped a beat.

When he came back to his senses, he felt vexed.

Why was he staring at Olivia in a daze again?

Alexander collected his thoughts and stood at the door. He looked at Olivia coldly

and sized her up.

e clothes. Her hair was combed back neatly without a trace of mess, and her expression was calm and

composed. The bodyguards standing around her were dressed neatly and did not look like they had

fought at all.

The woman in front of him was dressed in loose and

What was going on? Had he guessed wrongly?

Alexander looked at Olivia and said in a strange voice, “Excuse me, Miss Taylor!” He gritted his teeth

as he said those words, giving them particular emphasis. When faced with Olivia, Alexander had a

strange inexplicable feeling in his heart. For some reason, he could not help but pay attention to Olivia

even though he had already found the young girl in the gown.

Her every move and every word could affect his emotions.

It was precisely because of this concern that he could not bear to hit Olivia too hard. Even if she had

gone against the Grant family several times, he had never thought of hurting her.

However, he did not expect the Grant family to fall into such a situation because of his soft–

heartedness.

Shockingly, Olivia was playing dumb so that she could come out on top later on. Her real identity was

actually the head of the Capitol Research Institute. Alexander had really underestimated her!

He felt that his friendship had been betrayed.

Olivia was not in the mood to care about Alexander. She said impatiently, “What’s the matter?”

She was truly a woman of few words, not even willing to say a single extra word. Alexander raised his

hand.

Everyone with the Grant family behind him instantly raised their guns and pointed them directly at

Olivia.

Alexander brought a total of 20 guards with heavy machinery in their hands.

Although Captain Chavez was around on Olivia’s side, they only had five or six people and could not

defeat Alexander.

“Courtesy before force.” Alexander walked to the sofa and sat down. He looked at Olivia seriously.

“Miss Taylor, let’s have a good talk.”

“I know you have a grudge against the Grant family, but at the end of the day, it’s not a big deal. Why

do we have to be so at odds? Don’t you think so?”

Olivia lowered her gaze and did not speak.

Bettany stood beside Alexander and also helped to persuade Olivia. “Olivia, Alexander is right. It’s

better to resolve the problem than to keep it going. You don’t have any deep hatred for the Grant family.

Why do you have to make things so difficult for them? Isn’t it good to cooperate with them?

“You can be the head of the Smith family in peace and still follow the Grant family as your master, just

like before. As long as the Grant family becomes the head of the Capitol City as of the four aristocratic

families, they won’t forget your contributions and will reward you with some benefits for sure.”

Olivia remained silent.

Alexander frowned and said coldly, “Olivia, what are you thinking?”

“Alexander, don’t be angry.” Bettany placed her hand on Alexander’s shoulder and comforted him. “I’ll

persuade her.”

With that, Bettany walked to Olivia’s side.

She had spent a lot of time with the Grant family, being surrounded by several teachers, and had

already grasped many of the rules of the wealthy families. Therefore, when she stood in front of Olivia,

she really looked like the wife of a rich family.

In the past, when facing Olivia, Bettany had always been a little timid. She was like a firefly beside the

bright moon, looking awkward and inferior.

At that time, Olivia was the high and mighty head of the Smith family. Her fiancé Daniel was the richest

man. She was noble and beautiful.

As for Bettany, she was just a pitiful little girl who barely had a few years of schooling in her. She had

nothing.

But it was different now. Bettany could not control the excitement in her heart. Her and Olivia’s statuses

had finally changed.

Bettany was the high and mighty future young wife of the Grant family, while Olivia was just a prisoner.

She finally had the confidence to stand in front of Olivia.

“Olivia, Bettany said as she pointed around with her finger. “Look around. We brought more than 20

people with us. All of them are armed. You have no other choice but to surrender.

“Did you know that when we came, the First Elder ordered us to take your life?” At this point, Bettany

smiled. “But you saved me once after all. Alexander and I are willing to give you a chance. As long as

you obediently take this Great

Nourishment Pill, hand the research institute to the Watson family, and lead the Smith family and make

them listen to the Grant family’s orders, I will spare your life.

“Olivia, you should be glad that Alexander and I are the ones who came to the Wayne Country today. If

it were someone else, they might not even give you a chance to speak!”

“Are you done?” Olivia finally looked up. Her clear and cold gaze seemed to carry a deep chill.

Bettany’s face darkened. She was very dissatisfied.

Why was Olivia still acting so calm at this time?

Bettany really wanted to punch her and shatter the calm expression on her face.

“You’re right about one thing.” Olivia touched the box in her hand. “I should be glad that it was you and

Alexander who came. If it were anyone else, it might have been a little more troublesome.

“But it’s you, so it’s much easier.”

Olivia lifted her eyelids and looked at Bettany’s chest. “You’re still wearing the whistle I gave you,

right?”

As soon as Olivia finished speaking, Bettany felt a chill run down her spine and her face turned pale.

What was Olivia trying to do? Should she tell the truth?
