Josie was injured, and for a good while, Arnold ceased to bother her. Perhaps he knew he was in the wrong, having broken the rules, and was intentionally waiting for her wounds to heal.
Her arm was injured, greatly slowing down the progress of the design sketches. Seeing that she couldn't even lift her hand, Lachlan simply told her to forget it and focus on her recovery first.

Alice, I've noticed that your connections back hare more extensive than I've imagined.” Josie's smile faded. “They're all entanglements from the past.” “Even if you don't seek help from Robyn, Dexter will sort things out for you, right?” Lachlan sounded somewhat jealous. It seemed he had heard quite a bit about the situation.
Josie didn't plan to always rely on Dexter. Paul's medicine was almost finished, and she had to take the initiative.
“Lachlan, you've crossed the line.” Her expression was unreadable, and Lachlan realized this. He nodded, then retrieved a salve from the caband placed it before her. “This will be beneficial for your wound. Give it a try,” he suggested.
Just then, a commotion arose from outside. Laura had arrived, bringing with her an abundance of pastries, which stirred a wave of excitement among the employees.
Josie didn't take the salve; instead, she walked straight out.
In the crowd, Laura spotted Josie. She approached her and asked, “Why are you still working despite being injured? Doesn't your wound hurt?” “Quit acting!” Josie laughed lightly. “Would you have chere if you knew | wasn't around?” Her straightforwardness made Laura feel somewhat embarrassed. “I heard about the incident at the country club. How did your final check-up go? | was worried, so | cto see you.” Josie rested her hands on the railing, gazing down at the river view.

It's only natural that he should handle it.” Josie nodded, feeling deep within that something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
“Are you close with him?” This question left Laura somewhat at a loss. She smiled and shook her head. “There's always something to talk about when it comes to capital. If this project is to be delayed, | can lend a hand.” Josie smiled as well. “It seems like your power of speech isn't insignificant.” “Don't worry. It can be completed on schedule.” At that moment, Josie's phone rang. Mallory had sent a message that read: Guess who got suspended from the country club.
Josie replied: Who? Mallory answered: The country club owner. Guess who the owner is.
Upon reading the message, Josie didn't immediately respond. She put away his phone and turned to Laura. “From the looks of it that night, you seem to be a regular at that country club.” “Due to work requirements, | often travel back and forth between two cities. As for social engagements, I've been to a few.” “Given your status, you should be of a high caliber. Do you know the owner of the country club?” The smile on Laura's face froze for a moment, then quickly vanished. “Isn't Arnold the owner?” “Strange. How did you know Arnold is the owner of this country club? | don't recall ever mentioning it.” Turning her head, Laura evaded her questioning. “I've only heard a little about it.” Josie didn't press further and simply responded with a smile.
She didn't even know what she was doubting. She just felt that the appearance of Laura that night was too much of a coincidence.
