Chapter 1848:

Chloe had only learned about Jayden’s disappearance that very day. Letting out a weary sigh, she shook her

head. “Nothing yet. But sometimes, no news means good news, don’t you think?”

Elyse’s brows knitted together as she nodded reluctantly.

Not wanting the worry to weigh Elyse down before her performance, Chloe quickly added, “Alright, set that aside

for now. You don’t want it affecting your performance. I'll send out smessages, see if anyone knows

anything. Who knows? Maybe Jayden will appear the moment you step off stage.”

Elyse let Chloe's words ease her worries, then picked up her violin case and left the dressing room, making her

way backstage.

Chloe watched her retreating figure and exhaled deeply. “What on earth could have happened to him? Could he

have been kidnapped? But would anyone even dare?”

The thought of someone targeting Jayden seemed absurd.

Backstage, Elyse steadied herself, adjusting her gown with grace. As the moment arrived, she took a deep

breath and stepped onto the stage.

In the front rows sat high-ranking government officials, their faces unreadable. Behind them, journalists and

camera crews from major media outlets poised, ready to capture every moment.

For the first time, Elyse felt the full weight of the stage pressing down on her. Yet, she was determined. This was

her moment, and she wouldn't let it slip through her fingers.

As she drew her bow across the strings, the first notes of the prelude filled the air. One by one, the other

musicians of the Celestial Sounds Symphony joined in, weaving a spell of harmony that transported the audience

into a world of pure melody.

Piece after piece, Elyse played, pouring her soul into the music. Then, with the final note lingering in the air, she

stepped off the stage.

But suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over her. Her vision blurred, her knees buckled, and she collapsed.

“Careful!” Darren caught her just in time, his grip firm yet gentle. Concern flickered in his eyes as he steadied

her. “Elyse, what's wrong? Are you alright?”

Blinking away the haze, Elyse shook her head. “I don’t know... | suddenly felt weak.”

Darren guided her to a nearby chair, his voice laced with concern. “You must have been too tense. All that

energy spent on the performance—it’s catching up to you now.”

Elyse nodded faintly. “Maybe...”

Darren crouched beside her. “Stay put. I'll get you swater. Honestly, after all these performances, you'd

think your nerves wouldn't get the best of you.”

Elyse, regaining a hint of her usual self, murmured, “I saw you looking nervous too, so don't go teasing me.”

Darren chuckled. “That's different. No matter how nervous | get, | don’t go fainting on people.”

Returning a moment later, he handed her a cup of warm water. “Drink this. It'll help.”

Elyse sipped the water, letting the warmth settle in her stomach before handing the empty glass back to him.

As she made to stand, Darren stopped her. “Not so fast. You still have photos to take with the government

officials. Or have you decided you don’t want your face in tomorrow’s headlines?”

Elyse blinked. “I didn’t know that was part of the plan. Alright, I'll wait.”
