Chapter 1131

Just then, Jameson walked over slowly.

The moment he saw how close Jasper and Alyssa were, pain shot through his heart like bullets–so

painful it was soul-crushing.

Jameson gripped tightly onto the railing, his other hand clutching his chest right above his heart. It hurt

so much.

How could it hurt so badly?

“What’s wrong, Mr. Schmidt? Are you feeling unwell?” Carl was shocked by this.

When he went to help support Jameson, the latter quickly shoved

away.

“Scram! Don’t touch me!” Jameson snarled.

“Y-Yes, sir.” Carl ducked to the side. He glared at Jasper and Alyssa from a distance.

Carl would never complain about how Jameson treated him. He’d only blame Jasper Beckett for

making Jameson’s life a despairing one, for destroying Jameson’s hard-to-come-by happiness.

“The injury on Blaze’s left leg was man-made. It’s a narrow and peculiar knife wound,” Alyssa said.

She exhaled deeply as anger glinted in her eyes. “KS Group’s horses are worth millions and are

routinely checked every single day by experts. Our horse trainers would obviously be more meticulous

on a race day. Yet that still couldn’t stop devious persons from sneaking into the stables and hurting

Blaze!”

While everyone was caught up in shock, Zoe alone glared hatefully at

miyoou.

The horse’s injury had been a gesture too kind. It should’ve been cut right on Alyssa’s face!

“Ms. Alyssa’s analysis makes sense. Our stables are of professional standard and staffed with our

people whom we can place trust in. This incident wouldn’t have happened if someone hadn’t

intentionally plotted it,” Josh said.

Since this incident occurred on Schmidt’s Racecourses, Josh had to find a way to clear things up in

order not to affect the family business if word got out. Therefore, he had to help Alyssa in this matter.

Josh continued, “So this needs to be looked into thoroughly. The person behind this must be caught

and punished accordingly.”

“My son is correct. That vile person cruelly injured the horse and nearly cost Alyssa’s life in the

process! How could we just let this go easily?” Victor said matter-of-factly in agreement.

“Exactly. This is no different from premeditated murder. In my view, the person should be sentenced to

capital punishment!” Daisy

chimed in.

Zoe’s heart stuttered upon hearing the words “capital punishment”. She took a deep breath to calm

herself.

What was there to be afraid of? It wasn’t like Alyssa actually died. Zoe wasn’t going to be frightened so

easily!

“Your words made me realize something, Mr. Schmidt,” Alyssa said, ” There’s one thing we can confirm

right now, though. The person who injured Blaze is here in the racecourses right now. That doesn’t

mean they’re any of the Schmidt family’s staff, but at the very least, they’re right here with us right

now.”

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Zoe’s heart leaped into her throat. She was so nervous she felt like

vomiting.

“All the guests gathered here today are of noble, respectful class. They wouldn’t go to the stables for

no good reason. It’d be too obvious. If we exclude the Schmidts staff, the only people who

could’ve entered the horses’ stables are the horse trainers and riders

from the respective families. It’s also possible that some of their trusted aides would have access as

well,” Alyssa concluded.

Alyssa was able to swiftly narrow down their target demographic with

her keen intellect.

“In that case … Jonah!” Winston called out.

“Yes, Dad?” Jonah responded.

“Investigate according to what Lyse said. Don’t let any of the staff

whose masters have horses here off the hook!” Winston instructed.

His shoulders were trembling slightly as he spoke. It looked like Winston truly was enraged now.
