Alyssa’s yell jerked him back to the present.
Smoke billowed from the grayish-looking lumps in the pan before him.
“Shit!” He quickly switched off the stove and tossed the pan in the sink before turning on
the tap.
“What is up with you? You’ve been so distracted lately.” Alyssa hurriedly came over to see
if he had suffered any burns.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Alyssa. I haven’t slept very well these past few days. Please, let me make
another omelet for you.”
Sean was about to scrub the blackened pan when Alyssa stopped him.
