Jasper’s soul felt like it had been torn apart, and his heart twisted with a crushing pain.

him. Doubts gnawed at him. “You mentioned she nearly lost her life for me. When did this
happen? Tell me!”
“Mr. Beckett,” said Jonah with a grave expression. “The grudges between you and Lyse are
in the past. We won’t look into it if she doesn’t want to bring it up. It’s time to put an end
to your conflict with her and
move on.
“However, if you continue intruding on her life from now on, I will not hesitate to act on
you.”

admitted that he was rather shameless.
Xavier was right. Jasper wasn’t fated to be with Alyssa. He would have to be a little more
thick-skinned if
