She suddenly felt a pang of longing for her kids. She wanted to reach out to Athena, but remembering their agreement, she held
back. Instead, she called Tyler, but he had no clue what Athena was up to either.

Lindsay's eyes lit up instantly, a flush of excitement coloring her cheeks.

True to his word, Tyler arranged a helicopter ride for Lindsay that very day.
By the afternoon, she was standing outside her own front door.
Opening the door, she heard her brother trying to calm the kids. His movements were a bit clumsy, not quite what you'd call

Lindsay breathed a sigh of relief.

“Sis!”
Lindsay smiled, and without missing a beat, got to work making formula and doing laundry.
Her brother hovered around, still in disbelief that she was back so soon; he had only gotten off the phone with her a short while

“Is this what you've been eating lately?”
Her brother's eyes darted guiltily, and after a minute, he admitted he had ordered burgers for the kids.
“Sorry, Sis. It wasn’t the kids who wanted it. It was me.”
Burgers were a rare treat when their parents were alive, something they could rarely afford.
