Chapter 244

Cristina and Carter froze upon hearing the noise, Carter’s eyes turning icy cold.

Cristina, scared out of her wits, quickly wrapped herself in the bedsheet and jumped out of bed.

“Why are you back all of a sudden?”

Neil’s hand were shaking uncontrollably, his shock indescribable. His mind was in shambles, and he

couldn’t think straight. His eyes rolled back and he passed out.

He crumpled to the floor.

Cristina was terrified, her legs wobbly. She clung onto Carter, her hand trembling. “What do we do

now? He knows about us. When he wakes up,

we’ll be kicked out”

Carter was pulling on his pants, calmly putting on his glasses that were lying nearby.

“So, he can’t wake up again.”

Cristina stiffened, looking at him in disbelief. “What do you mean?”

“We can’t let him live, or all our years of planning will be for naught.”

Cristina slumped onto the floor. She might have wanted the Pennyfeather family’s fortune and had

indeed fallen for Carter but she couldn’t bring

herself to murder.

However, she saw Carter walking over to Neil, giving him a kick.

Cristina had had her eyes on this handsome assistant of Neil’s even before she married Neil. He was

younger and more energetic than Neill, and he always satisfied her in bed. Neil, having already been

married once and being older, plus his constant work for the company and his back injury, naturally

didn’t satisfy Cristina as much.

Cristina hadn’t been with many men. Besides her ex, there was only Neil, and she had never been

satisfied in bed. But Carter did satisfy her, so she genuinely liked him.

As they saw more of each other, their illicit affair began, but she didn’t expect Carter to consider

murder.

Carter was already bending over, dragging Neil towards the door.

Cristina, frightened, grabbed him. “Carter, don’t kill him. If people find out, we’ll go to jail.”

Carter, in his forties, usually looked elegant, but his expression was now icy cold.

“He already knows about us. Once he wakes up, we’ll be out on our butts. ll be fired, you’ll be divorced.

Do you really want your kids, Tricia and Glenn, to suffer with you? Especially with Tricia’s poor health.”
