Chapter 829

He used to dodge his feelings for her, too lazy to understand it and screwed up a lot because of it.

Her cousin’s recent shenanigans pissed her off, so, understandably, she’s giving him the silent treatment now.

Maja, tense, pushed his hand away, afraid her paint–stained fingers would ruin the paper. She had to be careful not

to press too hard.

She was working on the details, and a single misstep could ruin the entire painting.

“lan, if you’re bored, go downstairs, don’t bug me,” she said.

lan stopped talking, just quietly holding her waist, not saying a word.

Maja scolded him, but he wouldn’t listen. She just left him be and focused on finishing her painting.

Knock, knock.

Someone was at the door. Probably a servant bringing water.

Maja quickly pushed him away, but he stuck to her again.

She could tell this man was a bit childish.

Stubborn, always running his mouth, temperamental, and unpredictably cold to others.

“Let go!”

lan held her from behind, reluctantly let go and returned to his chair.

“Come in,” Maja called to the door.

Sure enough, a servant came in with a tray holding two cups of mint tea.

“Mr. Raymond, Ms. Pennyfeather, you’ve been working hard. Holden asked me to bring you something.”

The servant placed the two cups of mint tea on the table.

Maja cleaned her brush, and just as she was about to switch to a larger one, lan came over again.

“Let me do it.”

He snatched the used brush and began washing it.

Maja didn’t say anything, switched to another brush and continued painting.

She heard some movement next to her, and before long, a shadow appeared. He had picked up another brush and

was helping out.

Regardless, his face was truly good–looking when he was focused on painting.

She had found herself absent–mindedly staring at his face countless times in the past.

lan was definitely the most handsome out of all the men she’d met.

She averted her gaze, her hand steady as she continued to paint.

Forty minutes later, she finally put down her brush, her fingers slightly cramping.

Finally done.

Just as she was about to massage her shoulders, a beautiful hand reached over from the side and gently rubbed

them.

“Mmm.”

It felt good. She couldn’t help but moan, but the moment she realized it was lan’s hand, she snapped back to

reality..

“I can do it myself.”

Just as she finished her sentence, his other hand landed on her waist.

Both her shoulders and waist were being massaged at the same time. It felt incredibly relaxing..

She even felt a little unsteady.

Ian helped her to the chair next to them, his eager gaze falling on her face.

Maja was slightly panting, trying to push his hands away.

But he pressed hard on a point on her waist, almost making her cry out.

Realizing where he was pressing, she quickly rebuked, “lan!”

lan finally stopped. “Did it hurt?”

Maja was still panting, her cheeks flushed from embarrassment.

Even though the massage felt good, he was clearly taking advantage of her.

The door was knocked again, and this time, it was Holden’s voice.

“lan, Maja, have you finished the painting? Dinner is almost ready.”

Maja immediately stood up and checked her appearance

Once she confirmed she was presentable, she quickly walked to the door and opened it.

“It’s done, Grandpa Holden. Do you want to take a look?”

Holden laughed and said, “No need, go downstairs and look at the flowers. They’re all blooming in the garden.”

Spring had arrived, and it was the perfect time for the flowers to bloom in the garden.

At his age, the old man enjoyed life the most.

Maja immediately agreed, “Alright, let’s go downstairs.”

Holden glanced at lan and found that he was following without a care for face. He wanted to say something but

only moved his lips.

He would tease him for his thick skin as he only invited Maja to see the flowers, not him.

But considering the lad was trying hard to pursue her, he decided to let it go.

The three of them went downstairs. The servants were serving delicious food, and Holden had the French doors to

the garden opened.

The scent of flowers instantly filled the room, lifting Maja’s spirits.

“Maja, if you like the flowers here, I can have some sent to Rosewood Manor.”

“No need, Grandpa Holden. Coco wrecks the flowers every day, and they won’t survive.”

Holden found it amusing, “It’s nice to have a pet around.”

Maria had already told him that Maja had a dog. He didn’t have any objections as long as she was happy. After all, it

was her house.

When they sat down for dinner, lan first served Holden a bowl of soup, then served Maja one.

In front of Holden, Maja felt too embarrassed to refuse.

But her mind was clearly not there. She was just going through the motions.

After the meal, her phone rang. It was Wilma from the hospital.

“Mr. Pennyfeather, I’m sorry for the trouble.”

Her voice was choked up, probably from crying alone for a long time.

Seeing that dinner was over, Maja quickly excused herself to the old man.

“Grandpa Holden, work has been busy at the company. I need to go back now. I will revisit you soon.”

“Alright, Maja. Work is important.”

After the old man finished speaking, he gave lan a look.

lan immediately stood up.

“Let me walk you out.”

“No need.”
