Chapter 334
Audrey's POV
| closed my eyes.
William Parker wasn't just Blake's grandfather to me. He’d shownmore genuine care than my biological and
adoptive parents combined.
When | discovered my cancer diagnosis, my greatest regret was knowing | might not see his next birthday. And
that celebration had ended in disaster
anyway.
William had even tried to makethe primary beneficiary in his will.
Now he was dying, with one final wish: to see Blake andtogether again.
But I'm supposed to be dead. And Blake is marrying Rachel.
‘Audrey? You still there?” Astrid’s voice snappedback.
| touched my cheek. “Yeah, just... processing.”
“I know William means a lot to you. That's why | thought you should know.”
| sniffed. “Do you know any more about his condition?”
“Had to pull sstrings at Mayo to get even this much,” she replied. “Best case, he makes it a week.”
‘Worst case? Three or four days.”
Blake and Rachel's wedding is in three days.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt‘Audrey, | know you don’t want to go back to New York or deal with the Parkers again... but I'm wondering if
you're coming back.”
| bit my lip hard enough to taste blood. “I'll think about it.”
After hanging up, | stared through my office window. Going back would be risky as hell. My encounter with Blake
on Long Island had nearly exposed me. It took months for him to stop suspecting who I really was.
And that was just Blake and Rachel. Going back meant facing everyone - Thalia, Rebecca, Elizabeth, maybe even
the Sinclairs. The thought made my stomach
twist.
But this was William. The one person who'd lovedunconditionally in that cold, calculating family.
Could I really stay away just because | was scared of Blake figuring out who | was? Because | didn’t want to see
people | disliked?
Would I let William die without saying goodbye, all to protect my new identity?
What kind of person would that make me?
That evening at dinner, | told Adrian and his parents about William's condition.
‘I see, Eleanor said, putting down her fork. “And you want to visit him?”
“Yes,” | admitted. “He means a lot to me.”
“We understand. If you want to go, we won't stop you.” She exchanged looks with Jeffrey. “But think carefully
about what you're walking into.”
Her eyes showed genuine concern. “They'll question who you are. They'll test you. Especially since you're
visiting someone who matters so much to Audrey
Sinclair.”

I nodded, understanding the risk.
“Her identity will cout eventually,” Jeffrey said. “When we rescued you, we actually wanted you to fully
becEvelyn. But these past months have shownthat despite your similarities, you and my daughter are
different people.”
“If William Parker's kindness is something you can’t forget, we accept that you need closure. Even if your identity
is exposed, we'll handle it.”
‘But our agreement stands. No matter what happens in New York, Jeffrey and Eleanor are your only parents.
Adrian and Emma are your only husband and daughter.
| frowned slightly but nodded. “I understand.”
Eleanor turned to Adrian, who'd been quiet throughout. “What do you think?”
He glanced up from his phone. “It's Evelyn's call.”
‘As long as she’s not going back to rekindle things with Blake Parker, | don't care.”
“Knox Corporation has business in New York anyway. I'll go with her. His eyes narrowed. “You don’t mind, right?”
Something in his tone madeuneasy. Like he suspected | had other motives for visiting William.
“Of course not,” | forced a smile. “You're my husband now. William might even like to meet you.”
Adrian set his phone down. “But I've heard William's dying wish is to see you and Blake back together.”
‘Would you pretend to reconcile with Blake for his sake?” he asked coldly.
The table went silent.
“No,” | said firmly.
