Norah complained, “It’s not even that expensive; why are you being so stingy? Are you treating me like a
stranger?”
Damian smiled and said, “It’s precisely because I consider you one of us that I won’t let you pay. You’re still a
student. Once you start earning your own money, I won’t stop you.”
“I already have my own income!” Norah smiled and said, “Mr. Flemmings pays me a salary every month.”
Damian chuckled. Does Mr. Flemmings’ salary even cover the cost of one outfit for you?”
Norah was left speechless.
All of her clothes were tailor-made by a fixed brand at home. She didn’t have to pay for them herself, but if she
were to buy them on her own, a year’s salary wouldn’t cover the cost.
When Norah and Damian returned to the store with their popsicles, to their surprise, there was an additional person
