With a nod, Sophia slipped on her shoes and a jacket and headed outside.
As she drew closer, the man's silhouette under the streetlight becclearer, and Sophia's steps slowed, her heartbeat, however,
raced. Suddenly, she didn't want to see him, felt like turning around and heading back.
Hearing footsteps, Jason turned to look her way. His eyes, hidden behind his glasses, were deep and mysterious, always keeping
his emotions veiled, exuding an aura of distant elegance.
Sophia's face, framed by the hood of her down jacket, looked even smaller and more delicate, her eyes shining brightly in the light,
"What's up? You needed something?"
Jason handed her something, "Cream puffs, all your favorite flavors."
He hadn't been with Jewel that afternoon; they had just left together.
He met a couple of friends, had dinner, chatted about work, and on his way home, passed the dessert shop from last night. He
stopped to buy the cream puffs he hadn't gotten her the night before.
Sophia didn't take them, "I've told you, I've put on weight recently. I'm not eating at night anymore."
