Robin spoke up. “I ordered your favorite dishes. | thought maybe it could make up for what | missed before, give both of us some
closure. Maybe this is the last twe'll ever eat together. Won't you stay?”
Sophia's voice was calm. “It’s over, Robin. Don’t waste your feelings on the wrong person. You'll find someone else—someone you
really love. Treat her well, for both our sakes.”
Robin gave a small, self-mocking laugh, as if chiding himself for realizing too late. He nodded. “Thank you for meetingtoday. |
get it now. | won't bother you again. Like you said, we're breaking up on good terms. | just hope that when you think of me
someday, you'll remember something good.”
Sophia smiled gently. “I will.”
She stood up. “Goodbye, Joe.”
A memory flashed in her mind—her first conversation with him, so long ago. Back then, she'd been nervous and a little excited,
working up the courage to speak.
“Hi, are you Robin?”
From that moment, she had chased after him for ten years, just like a teenager idolizing her favorite star—always striving to get
closer. Today, she was finally saying goodbye, not just to Robin, but to her own youthful years.
