“It's all right. The fact that you cputs bothand my wife at ease. Honestly, we were worried you might still be upset,” Greg

said, guilt written all over his face. “Jolin was truly out of line that day. Ms. Jarvis did so much for ourpany’s opening—

got hand told her to stay put and reflect on her behavior. She's grounded for now—won’t be making any appearances these

Mrs. Farley chimed in, looking equally embarrassed. “I only heard the whole story afterwards. Jolin deserves a good talking to. I've

Sylvia remainedposed and gracious, but she couldn't help feeling a bit on guard.

The server, evidently no stranger to this sort of arrangement, didn’t look the least bit nervous. “Don’t worry, Ms. Farley. You'll be

satisfied.”

“Go on, then,” Jolin replied, her eyes glinting with cold malice. Anyone looking closely would see the venom behind her smile.

After the server left, she pushed a trolley toward the private room. She knocked, entered, and began serving the next course. As

she set a plate in front of Sylvia, her elbow “accidentally” nudged Sylvia's wine glass, sending wine splashing across the table.
