After leaving the wooden house, Evelyn took off her coat and

put it in her bag. She found a small hotel nearby to stay in. The price was low, but the equipment was

not good. The room was filled with thick humidity and a moldy smell.

After taking off her clothes and drying them, Evelyn took a combat bath. She couldn’t fall asleep

because of the man’s mercy tonight. She turned on her mobile phone and wanted to distract herself.

Before she could switch to the flight mode and play the game, she received a call from Sam.

She hesitated for a few seconds before answering, “Hello?”

“Miss Shelton?” Sam called her uncertainly.

“It’s me.”

“It’s really you! Miss Shelton, you finally picked up the phone. Where are you now? President Lloyd is

going crazy looking for you!” Sam’s extremely excited and anxious voice rang out.

Evelyn was stunned. “Huston?”

“Yes, President Lloyd came back by plane today. He went back to look for you as soon as he got off the

plane, but you were not at home, so he couldn’t get through to you. If you don’t answer the phone

tonight, President Lloyd may turn Jaberg upside down!”

Sam wanted to cry but had no tears. If he couldn’t find Miss Shelton, he would have to call her 24 hours

a day. He had called her hundreds of times, and his fingers hurt.

Evelyn didn’t expect that he would suddenly come back, nor did she expect that he would look for her.

Her mind couldn’t keep up with him. “Isn’t he on a business trip to Aronland?”

“He came back early.” Sam was anxious. “Miss Shelton, where

are you now?”

Evelyn looked around and took the card from the table. There was the exact location on it. She took

care of it and said, “It’s

here.”

“Okay, don’t hang up. I’ll tell President Lloyd.”

About a few minutes later, Sam picked up the phone again and said, “Miss Shelton, President Lloyd is

on his way. He will probably call you. I’ll hang up first.”

Looking at the end of the call, Evelyn was still in a daze.

Why did he suddenly come back?

In less than half a minute, her phone rang. Huston picked it

up, and before she could speak, she heard a familiar and cold voice. “Are you ignoring my words?”

The reproach made her nervous. Evelyn couldn’t make a

sound at all for fear that she would cry as soon as she opened her mouth.

He was the one who had run abroad and disappeared, and he was also the one who had lost contact

with her first. Now that he had returned to the country without saying a word, he would blame her if he

could not find her.

Evelyn was angry and sad. For a moment, she couldn’t say anything and didn’t know what to say.

On the other end of the line, Huston couldn’t hear the voice he had been worried about day and night.

He frowned slightly and asked, “Evelyn?”

She sniffled and didn’t want him to notice that something was wrong with her, but when she opened her

mouth, she still

revealed it. “I…”

As soon as Evelyn said a word, she couldn’t continue. She

clenched the phone tightly, and her knuckles turned white. It took her a long time to find her voice

again. “I almost couldn’t

you again.”

Huston’s heart tightened. “What happened?”

After hesitating for a moment, Evelyn still couldn’t tell him what had just happened. She didn’t know

what he would do, and she was afraid that he would get into trouble because of her. She shook her

head and didn’t care that he couldn’t see it at all. “No, I thought you didn’t care about me anymore.”

The woman’s low and trembling voice came from the other end of the line. When Huston heard it, his

heart felt as if it had been cut by a knife. He wished he could appear by her side right now. “Are you

crying?”

She didn’t say anything. Silence was the best answer.

From the moment he was born until now, he had never felt so regretful. His heart tightened. “Don’t cry.

I’ll be right there.”

As soon as she cried, his heart was filled with thunder and lightning, and he couldn’t show any hostility.

It took them an hour to reach the hotel. Regardless of the danger, he asked the driver to step on the

accelerator. They arrived in half an hour and found the hotel according to the location sent by Sam.

The hotel looked like a small shop in the countryside. There

was only

red-and-green light on the door, and the

bodyguards couldn’t help but change their expressions.

However, Huston, who was obsessed with cleanliness, kept walking in for a second as if he couldn’t

feel anything.

When the group of people arrived, the shop owner, who was still dozing off, stood up in shock. “Hello,

who are you?”

“I’m here to look for someone.” His words were full of pressure.

The boss didn’t dare to stop him. He took him in trembling and handed over the key without saying a

word.

After finding the room where Evelyn was, Huston left the bodyguards outside the door and pushed the

door open to

enter alone.

The door of the room was opened. Evelyn watched as the tall man stepped into the room. Standing in

the short room with a ceiling, he looked like an elite, rich man who had accidentally entered the slum

and was out of tune with this place.

He went straight to her. He was wearing a dark suit and a

pair of trousers, which made him look very handsome. His

expensive handmade leather shoes fell on the cheap carpet and reached straight to her.
