Chapter 707 A Strange Old Lady
“A strange old lady?” Charlotte checked the two of them once again, making
sure everything was alright before finally letting out a sigh of relief.
Ben and Anna nodded. “After we were pushed into the cave by those people,
we initially wanted to go back to find you, but it was too dark… Then, an old lady
appeared. She asked us to hold her hand and said she would lead us out. She
also asked us lots of strange questions.”
“What kind of strange questions?” As Charlotte listened, she felt something was
amiss. According to Ben and Anna’s descriptions, it seemed like this old lady
had been waiting there from the beginning, as if she already knew Ben and
Anna would appear.

The two kids were safe for now, so she didn’t dwell on it further.
After making a call to Joe to reassure him of their safety, Charlotte walked out of
the cave, holding Ben’s and Anna’s hands.
At the exit, Joe furrowed his brows and scanned the crowd with his eyes, taking
what felt like an eternity before finally spotting them in the crowd.
Joe hurried over and embraced his wife and children tightly.
At that moment, he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
On the way back, Charlotte told the strange encounter with the old lady with
Joe.
Joe’s perspective aligned closely with Charlotte’s. Since the lady hadn’t harmed
Ben and Anna, they didn’t intend to investigate further.
After this ordeal, both Charlotte and Joe had assumed that Ben and Anna
wouldn’t dare to continue playing. However, to their surprise, their kids’ spirits
remained undampened, and they eagerly wanted to try other attractions.
Charlotte and Joe exchanged a glance and reluctantly agreed.
They spent the entire day at the amusement park, playing from morning till
night. It wasn’t until after watching the fireworks display that Ben and Anna
finally lay down on Charlotte’s and Joe’s shoulders, falling into a deep sleep.
In the car on the way back, Joe’s assistant shared the investigation results of
the auction murder case. The killer had been arrested, a close friend of the
murdered couple.
Due to financial disputes, the killer had been secretly investigating and tracking
them. On that fateful night, during a heated argument between the couple, he
took advantage of the situation by posing as a waiter and stealthily entered their

Back at the Smith Family, Ben and Anna excitedly recounted their recent

going out with your mom and dad?”
“Of course!” Anna nodded earnestly. “Our mom and dad are the best in the
world!”
