Chapter 796 Nightmares of Fear
“I previously saw a psychologist for my memory loss, it must be the Smollett
you are talking about,” Martha answered confidently.
“I don’t know what misunderstanding you have, but I really don’t know Dr.
Twain well,” Martha said, her eyes red, “Maybe I haven’t fulfilled my duties as
a mother all these years, but I am your mother. How could I hurt you?”
With a poker face, Joe looked at Martha’s impassioned plea, his face
becoming increasingly darker.
Although he was certain that there must be some connection between Martha
and Smollett, now was not the time to settle accounts with them.
Joe gave Martha a deep look, “I hope your actions are really as you say,
Mom.”

After confronting her, Joe left. When she was sure he was gone, Martha

She immediately called Hope, “He seems to be starting to suspect us.”
Joe returned to Smith Manor, and Charlotte had not yet woken up. He felt her
face for temperature, and everything was normal.
Concerned that something might happen to Charlotte at night, Joe thought for
a moment and lay down next to her.
The person he had been thinking about day and night was finally sleeping
beside him, yet Joe had no joy. He looked worriedly at Charlotte’s side face,
just hoping she would get better soon.
He thought the day would pass just like that, but in the middle of the night,
Charlotte suddenly screamed and sat up in fear.
Her movement woke up Joe next to her. Joe looked at her with concern,
“What’s wrong…”
Before he could finish his question, Charlotte threw herself into his arms,
trembling slightly.
Joe didn’t know why, but he could feel her trembling and fear. He stroked her
back gently, soothing her, “It’s just a nightmare; it’s all fake; don’t be afraid.”
Perhaps Joe’s comfort worked, and Charlotte’s trembling body gradually
calmed down.
She fell asleep again, and only then did Joe feel relieved.
But not long after she fell asleep, Charlotte sat up in fear again, her eyes full
of terror.
“Are you alright?”
Joe immediately sat up with her, looking concerned.
Charlotte shook her head, her eyes full of fear, trembling even more severely
this time.
Without any hesitation, Joe held her and woke up Dorothy and the others.
Dorothy and several psychologists arrived quickly. Seeing Charlotte’s
symptoms, they sighed deeply.
“It seems that the psychological suggestion would trigger her greatest fear

Charlotte was already mentally fragile. Lack of rest or recurring nightmares
would bring her already burdened mental state to the brink of collapse.
“The person who did this is really ruthless,” said Dorothy, gritting his teeth
when talking about Smollett, “We study psychology to heal others, not for our
own benefit, using such cruel methods to treat patients.”
Dorothy exchanged glances with several psychological experts and said
indignantly, “Don’t worry; we will find a way to help Mrs. Smith. We won’t let
the bad guys get away with it.”
Joe also knew that he could only rely on Dorothy and others now. He nodded
earnestly, “Thank you.”
Dorothy waved his hands and seemed to think of something, saying to Joe,
“You should stay with her as much as possible during this time. Taking her to
some relaxing places to relax her mood will be good for her.”
