Chapter 1229

"Flora!" Carly yelled, her voice cutting through the chaos.

With lightning speed, Flora kicked off a nearby stand, soaring through the air before landing effortlessly on the

horse's back. Her grip on the reins was firm as she pulled sharply. "Whoa-" she commanded.

The horse reared up, letting out a wild, agitated neigh, its hooves pounding the ground as if trying to throw Flora

off. The bystanders watched, hearts pounding with fear at the scene unfolding before them.

But Flora was unmovable, as solid as a rock. Her hands were steady on the reins, and soon enough, the horse

calmed down, halting just half a meter away from a little boy.

The little boy's hot dog slipped from his hands and hit the ground with a thud: "..."

Perched on the horse, Flora still held the reins loosely. Her features were strikingly confident, her eyes cool and

detached, with a hint of rebellion in her smirk. She looked down at everyone like she was on top of the world,

leaving them all in awe. Wow!

Who's this girl?

She's incredible!!!

It wasn't until the child's mother rushed over, tears streaming as she scooped up her kid, that everyone snapped

back to reality.

"Thank you, young lady, thank you so much."

The woman sobbed her gratitude. She'd been shopping nearby when her son wandered into the street. Without

Flora, who knows what might have happened?

"My horse!" a young man, probably around twenty-four or twenty-five, crushing over. Seeing his horse

unharmed, he sighed in relief, patting its head, "Glad you're alright, buddy."

"Teddy!" Jacob's anger flared as he recognized the newcomer. "Are you out of your mind? Your horse almost

trampled a kid, and you're only worried about the horse!"

"Oh, look who it is, Jacob, the black

sheep of the Gilbert family. What do you care how | handle my horse?" Teddy sneered, casting a disdainful glance

at the boy and his mother. "Sfolks don't pay attention to where they are. If something

happened, it'd be on them."

In their world, slives counted for less.

The boy and his mom, dressed simply, weren't from any noble family. In Teddy's eyes, their lives were worth less

than his horse.

Jacob's expression darkened. "Riding recklessly like that, aren't you worried about the Enforcement Division?"

"My brother-in-law's the captain of

the Ninth Brigade in the

Enforcement Division. Who're you trying to scare?" Teddy scoffed,

mounting his horse again. Ohnet

heard you're going to the noble families’ assessment. I'd suggest you skip it to spare yourself the

embarrassment."

The Gilbert family always ranked high among noble families, with talents like Sydney, a medical

prodigy, and Teddy, a martial armet

whiz. Their connections were vast, and this year, they might even crack the top five.

No wonder Teddy was so full of himself, especially with a brother-in-law in the Enforcement Division.

Compared to Teddy, Jacob's skills were lacking. They used to be equals, but as they grew, the gap widened, with

Jacob always on the losing end.

Teddy never missed a chance to belittle him.

Jacob and Carly were fuming, practically steaming. Just because of a brother-in-law in the Enforcement Division,

he thinks he can push them around because their family doesn't have such ties! Teddy, feeling cocky, sat tall on

his horse, the power of the Gilbert family keeping onlookers quiet despite their disapproval.

Flora watched him with a blank expression.

Her teeth itched.

Tsk...

He's really asking for it...
