Chapter 172
On Jackson's side.
As soon as he left Stephanie’s office, he received a call from Landyn Hayes, who, as always, was demanding the
ring
Yesterday, Jackson's mood swing led Landyn to suspect he might have handed the ring to Jessica Lowe
“Where are you now?” Jackson asked.
“Home. You coming to deliver it?” Landyn replied.
Deliver it?
The ring was already nothing but dust. There was no way to recover it unless he planned to rummage through
the city dump.
“I'll be there right away.”
With that, Jackson hung up.
Half an hour later.
Jackson drove to Landyn’s place. As soon as he arrived, Landyn demanded, “Where's my ring?”
“Get in,” Jackson ordered.
“No-I want my ring!” Landyn protested.
Why did he need to get in the car?
Landyn wanted his ring back.
“I'm taking you to get it,” Jackson replied.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLandyn fell silent.
‘Get it? From whom?"
‘Had that bastard really given the ring to Jessica?’ Landyn wondered.
Now, Landyn’s anger flared.
He angrily opened the car door and climbed in.
If he didn’t get the ring back today, he vowed, he’d never let Jackson off.
Landyn assumed that Jackson was taking him to Jessica's place, but soon, the car’s route took an odd turn.
“This isn’t the way to Jessica's house. Where are we going?”
“You'll know soon enough,” Jackson answered cryptically.
“You even sold my ring?” Landyn said.
Jackson's head pounded; he didn’t feel like sparing Landyn any more words.
The car drove on for a full hour until it finally stopped in front of a secluded cafe.

A waiter approached respectfully, “Mr. Hodge
“Which private room is Mr. Giovanni in?” Jackson asked.
The waiter’s face stiffened as he glanced nervously at Jackson.
Pulling a few banknotes from his wallet, Jackson handed them over. “Don’t worry, | won't put you in a tough spot
The waiter hesitated, “I... I'm really sorry, Mr. Hodge
This cafe was owned by Sebastian, and although the place looked elegant and serene, everyone who worked
there knew exactly how terrifying the boss could be.
Not to mention Sebastian; even Elliot Grant would scare the hell out of them.
Out of fear, every staff member was utterly loyal.
Landyn, upon hearing the word “Mr. Giovanni” from Jackson, his face drained of color as he stared at him in
shock.
‘Mr. Giovanni? Is it the one that I'm thinking?‘ Landyn thought to himself.
The waiter awkwardly returned the money to Jackson. “I'm really sorry, Mr. Hodge.”
Jackson frowned. “Then I'll go find him myself.”
“No, you can’t barge in like that.”
The waiter stopped him.
Jackson glared sharply at the waiter.
The waiter whispered, “I can notify him. You can’t just force your way in. If you do, none of our staff here today
will escape the consequences.”
Sebastian was meeting someone here today.
Elliot was also present.
The waiter leaned over to Elliot and whispered, “Mr. Grant, Mr. Hodge is here to meet Mr. Giovanni.”
Elliot's face darkened when he heard that Jackson had arrived.
He glanced over at Sebastian, who was sitting opposite an elderly gentleman with grey hair, and said in a cold

Now that he had found his way here, he would not give up easily if he didn’t see Sebastian.
The waiter nodded and left.
Elliot then approached Sebastian from behind. “Mr. Giovanni, Mr. Hodge is here.”
Without missing a beat, Sebastian calmly picked up his cup and took a sip of coffee.
Just then, his phone buzzed on the table. It was a message from Stephanie.
[Sebastian, what should | have for lunch?] The message was followed by a pitiful emoji.
Even through the screen, Sebastian could imagine how obedient Stephanie was.
