Chapter 181 | Sent Penelope Away "Deploy all available personnel, find Penelope!" Kelvin commanded.
Timothy was suddenly wide awake, "What? Penelope's missing?" Kelvin confirmed, "Yes." Timothy asked, alarmed, "How can she be... missing again?" Kelvin didn't reply and ended the call, confronting the three bodyguards he'd assigned to protect Penelope covertly.
His formidable presence sent shivers down their spines.
"I tasked you with her protection," Kelvin said with a menacing tone, "Where is she? How do you guys get things done?!" "Mr. Davis... Mr. Davis, we were following orders, always keeping tabs on Mrs. Davis. Today, after she left the hospital, she got into the car heading back to The King Manor..." one of the bodyguards explained.
Kelvin said angrily, "And then what? You didn't follow?" "Grandpa Davis's men spotted us," the bodyguard explained. They said they'd take Mrs. Davis back to The King Manor themselves and told us not to worry that we were all on the steam!" He couldn't finish his sentence before Kelvin's foot flew in a kick! 'Useless trash!' That meant that after Penelope got into the car, the bodyguards let their guard down, thinking the car would take her back to The King Manor, and they didn't continue their surveillance.
Now... no one knew where she was! The only lead was that car-arranged by Grandpa Davis! Kelvin strode out of the hospital, his left arm hanging motionless at his side, waves of agony coursing through it, but he didn't care.
Just as he approached his car, he heard Brandon's voice, "Mr. Davis?" Kelvin turned around.

Kelvin replied, curtly, "Don't bother." "I also had another motive," Brandon admitted. I hadn't seen Penelope in a long while and wanted to see how she was doing." Kelvin's expression darkened, "...She's gone." Brandon was shocked, "What?!" "But I'll find her." Kelvin's voice and demeanor reflected full-blown confidence: "She can never escape my grasp!" Brandon regarded him, then ventured, "She chooses to leave you, not an actual disappearance?" He yelled, "Impossible!" That was Kelvin's deepest fear.
From the moment he heard that Penelope was missing, the worst possibility he refused to consider was that... Penelope walked away of her own accord; she wanted to go and tried to leave him behind.
Kevin couldn't face that reality.
He preferred to believe that his Grandfather had sent her away, that she was forced to leave! Brandon spoke up, "I've always sensed something delicate between you and Penelope. It's like you're lovers, yet more like strangers. If she wants to leave... let her go, Kevin. It's her choice." "I won't let her go. She can't leave me!" Kelvin declared adamantly.
Brandon looked at him, "Kevin, clinging to someone who just wants to escape is a tragedy." Kevin scoffed, "Are you lecturing me?" Brandon retorted, "I want what's best for Penelope. I believe she's looking to break free from you, and only then will she find a better life." "You have no clue about the complexities between her and me!" Kevin marched toward his car, his tone icy, "If you truly care about her well-being, Brandon, use your influence to help find her! Her disappearing is not good news." He knew his men might have his Grandfather's spies among them who wouldn't put their hearts into the search for Penelope. They could even throw off the trail, dragging their feet.
So, Brandon getting involved would increase the chances of finding her.

"Fine," Brandon conceded, "I'll ensure her safety and whereabouts, but I'm not doing it for you." Kevin had already stepped into the backseat of his Rolls-Royce.
Brandon turned to his assistant and instructed, "Use all your contacts to find out where Penelope is. Keep it discreet and updateas soon as you have something." The assistant replied, "Yes, Mr. Walker." The Rolls-Royce sped along the highway, with Kevin urging, "Faster." "Mr. Davis, we're already going very..." the driver spoke as he got cut off.
"Faster!" Kelvin demanded.
The trip to the Davis family estate normally took half an hour, but they made it in just fifteen minutes.
Upon seeing him, Grandpa Davis was taken aback, "Kevin, what's with this reckless running around? Don't you care about your left hand anymore?" He got straight to the point, "Where's Penelope?" "You mean..." Grandpa Davis was taken aback.
"Where is she!" Kevin's voice soared, demanding an answer.
At that moment, he was like a lion losing its sanity.
Anger, restlessness, worry, and agitation.
His voice echoed through the living room, deafening.
Grandpa Davis looked surprised, "You... you're speaking tolike this over a woman?" "Grandpa, I've made it clear tand again: Penelope is my lifeline! If you've ignored my words, don't expectto respect our family ties!" In the past, Kevin would never have spoken to his Grandfather like that.

Kelvin exclaimed.
"Yes, that's right!" Since Kelvin had cto him, Grandpa Davis admitted it, "I drove Penelope away, and you can forget about ever seeing her again!" Kelvin's arrival was sooner than Grandpa Davis had anticipated.
Grandpa Davis had planned to start gently, to persuade and reason with him.
But seeing Kelvin's stance now, it was going to be a head-to-head battle! Grandpa Davis refused to believe that, for the sake of Penelope, Kelvin would sever their grandfather-grandson ties! Kelvin's temples throbbed and said, "Grandpa, you know I can't live without her. Why did you do this?"
"Because she's Dr. Cooper's daughter, and Dr. Cooper killed your father! Because she was carrying your child but lost it! Because you nearly died at Fiona's hands trying to save her!" Grandpa Davis threw out one reason after another.
"So, Kelvin, how can I accept her? For the sake of the Davis family, Penelope must stay away from you!
"When I groomed you to be my successor, I told you to succeed, to stand above all you. You can't have weaknesses or preferences! Anything can be replaced; you don't need anyone in particular! "Now what? Kelvin, where did all my advice go?" Kelvin looked steadily at Grandpa Davis. “Grandpa, what if I told you...that it waswho caused the death of our child?" Grandpa Davis staggered, "What did you say?" "It was me; I am to blfor the demise of our child," Kelvin said, "All the fault lies with me, not with Penelope. On the contrary, she did too much to protect our child." Grandpa Davis couldn't accept this truth.
He had always thought it was Penelope's negligence that led to the miscarriage...
