Chapter 201 Penelope, Let's Team Up "You just said you didn't want kids!" Penelope retorted.

"But you also said that you just didn't want to have mine," Kelvin replied. "If that's the case, I'll have to insist you bear my children first, no matter what." Penelope lifted a hand to wipe her mouth. "Kelvin, you're selfish and arrogant!" she hissed.

Kelvin said, "For the sake of our future children, letbe selfish this one last time." After kissing her fervently for quite stime, leaving Penelope almost breathless, he finally stood up and headed to the bathroom. The sound of running water filled the air. Penelope sat there, her cheeks flushed and her heart racing.

Suddenly, her phone screen lit up.

It was a message from Anthony.

Anthony: [Meet tonight. I'll send the location.] Penelope frowned. How should she handle this? How could she slip out of The King Manor? Meeting during the day wasn't safe; if Kelvin found out, it would be a disaster.

Penelope: [Okay, I'll be there on time.] After putting her phone away, she racked her brain for a plan.

Finally... her eyes landed on the glass of milk on the bedside table. It was the milk she'd had before bed last night.

Ten minutes later, Kelvin cout of the bathroom just as Penelope walked in with the milk in hand. "Here," she offered, "I warmed it up for you. It's at a perfect temperature to help you sleep." Kelvin raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised. "For me?" he said in disbelief.

She replied, "Yes." His smile turned suggestive, which made her very nervous, yet she managed to maintain a composed facade. "What's so funny? If you don't want it, forget it-I'll drink it myself." She turned to leave, but inside her head, she was counting on him to take it. She'd laced the milk with enough sleeping pills to knock him out cold for the entire night so she could meet Anthony with no worries.

"Wait," Kelvin pulled her back, his arm encircling her waist. "I didn't say I wouldn't drink it." Relieved, Penelope handed him the milk, but he didn't take it. "Feed it to me," he requested.

She blushed, and said, "You're an adult..." "If you don't feed me, I won't drink," Kelvin said in a teasing, stubborn tone.

With no other choice, Penelope brought the glass to his lips.

Before taking a sip, Kelvin said, "Penelope, whatever you feed me, even if it's laced with deadly poison and would killinstantly, I'd drink it without hesitation." Her hand trembled slightly.

Did Kelvin suspect something? Or was he speaking off the cuff? "Steady now, don't spill," Kelvin said, taking her hand before tilting his head back and draining the glass of milk clean.

Not a drop remained.

Penelope couldn't bear to look at him. "Get sgood sleep; your rest hasn't been great lately," she murmured. "It's because the scent of your aromatherapy has faded," Kelvin replied. "Penelope, it's tyou made another batch for me." "Sure, when I get a chance," Penelope promised.

He hugged her, and they fell back onto the large bed together. He rested his hand on her waist, seemingly content.

With her eyes closed, Penelope pretended to try to sleep, although she didn't feel the slightest bit tired. After what seemed like an eternity, Kelvin's breathing behind her grew steady and even.

"Kelvin?" she whispered tentatively.

No response.

"Your arm is on my hair," she stated.

I'm still waiting for movement.

Only then did Penelope cautiously remove his hand, got up, and quietly left the main bedroom. She walked to a smaller room at the end of the second floor.

"Nathan?" she called out softly.

"Here," Nathan replied. "Catch!" He threw up a rope, and Penelope tied it around her waist before scaling down the drainpipe and landing safely on the ground. They quickly disappeared into the night in the Mercedes.

"Why would you agree to meet Anthony?" Nathan asked as he drove. "And at night- it's dangerous. What if he tried something?" "He's too scared of Kelvin to try anything," she replied.

"What do you plan to talk about with him?" Nathan reasoned. "If he can't scare you off, he might try to win you over. Join his side to go against Kelvin." "That's exactly what I want-from Anthony to try to winover," Penelope answered.

There are no permanent enemies, only permanent interests.

Anthony's plan to usurp Kelvin had, for the moment, failed. He would surely try another approach.

"What do you mean?" Nathan asked. "You're going to work with him?" "Yes," Penelope nodded. "He'll only reveal the real reason behind Mr. Davis's death if he thinks I'm on his side," she explained.

Nathan couldn't help but stress, "Penelope, take care of yourself. Don't be too rash." She didn't reply.

Once, she could wait; now, twas a luxury she didn't have.

Her belly would grow bigger day by day.

Leaving sooner meant freedom sooner.

Anthony had picked a private club for their meeting, a place with excellent seclusion.

He greeted her with a smile as she walked in. "Hey, Penelope, it's good to see you tonight," he said.

Penelope couldn't help but notice the two dazzling women by his side.

The woman shot Penelope a resentful look and reminded him, "Don't forget to find us later, Anthony." "Sure, sure," he replied casually.

Penelope rolled her eyes. She complained, "We're here to discuss serious matters, and you're still fooling around with your nightlife." "It's not a conflict." Anthony chuckled, poured her a glass of wine, and said, "It's from a vineyard in France. Want to try?" "No thanks, let's get down to business," Penelope advised.

"All right," Anthony nodded. "Who starts, you or me?" he asked.

"You," Penelope suggested.

Anthony looked into her eyes. "These past days, I've realized Iunderestimated youx importance to Kelvin. Instead of pushing you away, why don't we... work together?" he suggested. Penelope had been right; Anthony was indeed trying to rope her in.

"Work together? What's in it for me?" Penelope asked. "Why should I partner with you?"

"Penelope, you're the daughter of the man who killed my father. The Davis family can't coexist with yours, and Kelvin will never let yo@dad Off the hook, BDI promise you, if I becthe head of the Davis family, the first thing I'll do is release your father. "Plus, I won't pursue my father's death, and I'll let your dad continue his practice as a doctor, saving lives again. "How do these terms sound?" Anthony inquired. "If you have any conditions, throw them on the table. We can work something out." Penelope chuckled.

Watching her reaction, Anthony asked, "What's so funny?" She replied, "To rise to the top, you'd even overlook your own father's death-" "It's for your sake," Anthony said. "We're friends, right? A little favor here, a favor there, makes life better for everyone." Penelope fell silent.

Anthony grew anxious. "Penelope, what do you say? Are you in?" he asked.
