They stepped forward at the same time to hold Floretta.

However, Angeline was too anxious that she, too, had forgotten about the slippery floor. Her body leaned forward,

and she was about to crash to the ground when a large arm grabbed hold of her.

Surprised, she looked up and saw Evander holding both her and Floretta, each in one arm.

Floretta chuckled, her gaze darting from Evander to Angeline. Immediately, her eyes lit up, and she asked, “Angel,

shouldn’t you consider becoming my mommy since Daddy hugged you?”

Evander froze while Angeline blushed.

She scrambled out of Evander’s arms and stood up, correcting Floretta, “Watch your words. Your daddy has a

fiancée already. Come on. Let’s continue making apple hand pies.”

The moment Floretta heard the words “apple hand pies,” she ignored Evander in an instant and skipped toward

Angeline to continue making the pastries.

Suddenly, Angeline turned around to glance at Evander. “Mr. Golding, you haven’t been spending much time with

Floretta, right? Do you want to join us?”

Evander could not help but feel bad when he saw Floretta kneading the dough seriously. She’s right. I don’t think

I’ve been spending much time with Floretta recently.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, an apron was stuffed into his arms.

Standing in front of him, Angeline said with a smile, “Francesca says Floretta hasn’t been this happy. I’m sure she’ll

be delighted if you could make apple hand pies with her.”

Evander frowned with disgust at the pink floral apron in his arms.

Regardless, he still followed Angeline to the countertop. Floretta helped him put on the apron in a clumsy manner

and said sweetly, “Remember to pay attention, Daddy.”

Evander was speechless.

Just like that, Angeline had successfully recruited a father and a daughter as her students.

Evander followed Angeline’s actions mindlessly, mixing the flour and making the filling. Finally, they reached the

final step, which was to wrap the fillings with the pastry.

“Most apple hand pies sold out there are shaped like semi-circles, but we don’t have to be so strict. We can let our

imagination go wild and make whatever shape we want,” Angeline said professionally.

“Got it!” Floretta raised her hand excitedly.

Looking deadpan as usual, Evander poured all his focus on the dough as he crimped the sides.

He looked so serious as if he was creating the world’s greatest masterpiece.

Ten minutes later, Angeline had created rabbit and bear-shaped apple hand pies. At the same time, Floretta had

created a chubby smiley face and had even made some openings to decorate the face.

Finally, their eyes fell on Evander’s board, and they were filled with shock.

The pastries on his board varied in sizes and colors.

Floretta tilted her head and asked innocently, “Wow, Daddy, did you make a pile of poo?”

Unable to hold it in, Angeline burst out laughing while hugging Floretta.

Evander’s expression turned as dark as thunder. Feigning ignorance, he forced himself to remain calm as he

flattened the “poo” with his hand.

Then he washed his hands and marched out of the kitchen without a word.

Angeline and Floretta pursed their lips, smiling as they exchanged glances.

Floretta clapped her hands happily when the apple hand pies were placed in the oven. “Mission accomplished!”

Francesca wanted to take Floretta for a bath, but the latter insisted Angeline help her instead. In the end, Angeline

had no choice but to oblige and follow Floretta into the bedroom.

First, Angeline filled the bathtub with warm water. Then, she checked the toiletries, only to find the children’s

shower gel had finished. Looks like Francesca didn’t have the time to replace it with a new one.

Angeline told Floretta to wait in the bathroom. After asking Francesca, she found out that the new bottles of shower

gel were stored in the guest room.

Seeing that Francesca was busy and unable to step away from her spot, Angeline went to the guest room alone.

The shelf was filled with new towels, and to her dismay, the shower gel was placed on top of the shelf.

Frowning, Angeline tip-toed and reached out to grab a bottle of shower gel.

“Is this the one you want?”

Suddenly, a man’s deep voice rang out beside her ears as an arm passed over the top of her head.

Realizing who it was, Angeline froze and nodded robotically. “Yes, that’s the one.”

She did not dare to look up. All she saw was the shadow on the shelf getting darker.

Evander grabbed a towel and lowered his head. The surprise was evident in his eyes as he studied Angeline’s

delicate side profile.

He had never looked at her carefully and had just realized that she was rather pretty.

She looked better than the other women out there, at the very least, and she seemed exceptionally patient,

especially when it came to taking care of children as if she was experienced.

“Thank you, Mr. Golding.” Angeline took the shower gel, blushing from the stare he gave her. She felt as if the

temperature of the guest room had risen.

Angeline figured Evander had just finished showering, for the refreshing fragrance made her want to take a few

more whiffs.

Right then, Floretta came looking for Angeline in the guest room. The second she saw the scene in the room, she

clamped her hands over her mouth, her eyes glinting with excitement.

Judging by the recent happenings, I think Angel is going to become my mommy soon. Hmm… But I think I have to

help them out.

Floretta pulled out her phone and sneakily took a few pictures of them.

Creak!

The door she was leaning against moved, causing Evander and Angeline to look over.

Floretta quickly put away her phone and blinked innocently, grinning. “Daddy, Angel, what are you guys doing? Are

you playing a game?”

“No. Your daddy’s just helping me take some things.” It was at that moment that Angeline realized she and Evander

were standing in an awkward position.

Embarrassed, she shuffled aside and put a safe distance between them. She then walked to the door, grabbed

Floretta’s hand, and left the room.

Evander’s gaze darkened as he stared at Angeline’s retreating back in a daze.

By the time Floretta finished showering, Francesca had finished cooking.

Floretta had been thinking about the completed apple hand pies the entire time. She placed one onto her plate and

enjoyed her pie outside while admiring the night view.

As Angeline sat at the dining table, she realized Evander was still not bringing up the agreement. With a glass of

water in her hand, she stood up and raised it to make a toast. “Mr. Golding, should we arrange a time to sign the

agreement?”

Evander did not expect Angeline to be so straightforward. He cast her a cold gaze and said sternly, “Come to

Golding Group the day after tomorrow.”

Angeline’s eyes lit up when she heard that. “Thank you.”

With that, she downed the glass of water.

Evander put down his fork and placed his hand on his thigh. He uttered in a dictatorial tone, “However, Golding

Group has its own rules. During the shooting period, you’re not allowed to use the company’s name to gain fame on

screen.”

It was a reminder that had an implicit meaning.

Angeline immediately understood his intentions. She met his gaze calmly and answered, “I understand. I won’t

mention Golding Group’s name at all. Besides, Let’s Go, My Friend has a great reputation. My appearance on this

show is basically a free advertisement for Starlight Jewelry. It’s quite a good deal.”

A good deal?

Evander took in her confident expression.

After several seconds of silence, he smirked and announced Angeline’s motive. “The Yiurk family isn’t acting so

arrogant without any reason. Hanson is a capable person. You’re totally overestimating your capabilities if you’re

planning to fight against him with what you have now.”

Angeline was helping Floretta to wipe her mouth when she heard that. She smiled evilly and said, “We should first

anger the enemy if we want them to expose themselves, right?”

Upon hearing that, Evander looked at her inquisitively.

The sense of calmness and confidence that she gave off made it clear that everything was going according to her

plan.

Looks like there’s no way Joseline and Hanson are going to have their wedding as planned. This woman is quite

impressive.
