Alexander glanced at her. "The vaccine research and development base."

"The vaccine..." Lily was at a loss for words for a moment. That was where she least expected Edward to be.

However, it made sense that foreign cars would not be allowed in. After all, it was a heavily guarded place. No one could enter and

exit at will. It only meant that Edward knew someone inside who allowed him to enter.

The vaccine research and development base Alexander mentioned referred to the one Fabian had snatched from La Beaute

"lI guess we can assthat someone has poisoned or controlled Edward," Lily stated after analyzing the situation. Everything was

starting to make sense. The fog in her mind gradually dissipated, and she felt they were getting closer to the truth.

"Maybe, but maybe not." Alexander's ambiguous answer made Lily highly curious. "What do you mean?"

Looking deeply at her, he smiled and turned around to pull her into his embrace. Then he pulled the blanket around her. "It's cold

at night. | don't want you to catch a cold."

Warmth immediately engulfed Lily as she instinctively snuggled into his arms. However, she still remembered her question. "You

haven't answered me! What do you mean? Stop beating around the bush!"

Alexander pinched her cheeks and softly replied, "It's just a guess, but maybe Edward might not be under someone's control.

Maybe he's doing this willingly. However, it's just a guess. | can't be sure."

"Huh?!" Hearing this, Lily was now fully invested in this. She turned to look at him, sizing him up carefully. "You mean, he's an

undercover agent?"

Alexander could not help but laugh at how serious she looked and went to nudge her upturned nose. "You've watched too much TV;

what undercover agent are you talking about? I'm guessing that maybe he’s looking for something, but I'm not quite sure. He

should have givena heads up if he's trying to inquire about the situation at the research base."

Lily thought about it carefully before nodding. "So, an undercover agent!"

Her words made Alexander's smile deepen. He could not help but lean in to kiss her cheeks when he saw her severe yet cute face.

Lily wrapped her arms around his neck and adjusted comfortably before squinting and scolding, "Don't change the topic! Are you

saying Edward hasn't left since he went in?"

"The person following him has been guarding the door. Edward's car hasn't left," he answered.

"Even if his car doesn't cout, it doesn't mean he hasn't left. If he wanted to stay hidden, he might not drive his personal car

out," she said after pondering for a moment.

Alexander was dumbfounded.

‘She’s right! Just because the car hasn't left doesn't necessarily mean Edward is still inside. The vaccine development base is

massive. No one can look for all the cars coming in and out from the various entrances. What if Edward left in another car?’
