Later, Dominic fell unconscious, just like he did two days ago.

Austin noticed his eyelids were not twitching rapidly, indicating Dominic was asleep. The former also checked the latter's breathing

and pulse. Although Dominic's pulse was weak, it showed no signs of immediate life-threatening dangers.

Austin considered it fortunate amid misfortune. He was conflicted as he struggled with himself internally. On the one hand, he did

not want to waste there, but on the other, he could not just leave.

‘I'm the only one left to care for everyone here. What would happen to Uncle Dom if | left? What would happen to Galen? What

about the servants?’

With that in mind, Austin stood up and walked to the balcony to look downstairs. Everything below seemed lifeless in the vast

estate. Even the once vibrant plants and trees appeared dull and withered at that moment, hanging their leaves dejectedly.

While the servants rested in their respective quarters, Austin walked through the garden and occasionally heard their intermittent

coughing and soft groans.

‘These people don’t know what illness they're suffering from. They think they're just down with the common flu and have infected

each other.’

Dominic had ordered the servants not to go outside, and they obeyed. Initially, very few people in the estate went outside as most

of their needs were self-sufficient. Moreover, Alexander's men stationed outside occasionally sent necessary supplies. So, there

was no shortage of daily necessities.

‘Although it’s manageable now, anyone will unlikely endure this for much longer. Plus, the virus can undergo unpredictable

changes.’

With these thoughts in mind, Austin glanced at Dominic and noticed he was sleeping peacefully. Then Austin opened the door and

went out, descending the stairs. He arrived at the garden, where a scent of medicinal herbs permeated the air.

Although they had not figured out exactly what virus they were dealing with, they could not afford to stay idle. Hence, Austin

boiled sherbal soups and gave them to the servants.

The people there still trusted Austin and Dominic, so they naturally assumed the soup was medicine for treatment and willingly

drank it. Only Austin knew that although the herbal soup could boost their immune systems, it would not help with the virus.

The garden was quiet, and Austin walked around the servants’ quarters. However, he hesitated to go any closer.

Guilt stirred within him as he looked at the people there and listened to their intermittent coughs. He felt like a sinner, knowing all

this suffering was because of him. The servants had to endure so much because of him.

After a few minutes, Austin no longer dared to go inside. Ultimately, he turned and left.

‘Since | started this mess, | must be responsible for ending it. | have to find a way to end this endless pain!’

Lily kept track of the days and realized she had been there for three days. She had not seen anyone besides those who delivered

her meals and the two guards at the entrance. There was no sign of the mysterious organization, the enigmatic person, or even

Rick. It seemed like Lily was the only one there.

While her days here were worry-free regarding food and shelter, and she appeared free to move around, it was much more difficult

than being in the research facility.

There was also no sunlight here since the windows were just decorations. Therefore, Lily also could not see the outside world.
