Brian stared at Cornelia, then said slowly after a moment of silence, “You’re pretty scary”
“Ms? Scary?” Cornelia didn’t turn her head, her eyes still fixed on the big screen. The scene was gruesome, but

She continued, “So you guys want me to just let those who bully me continue to do so? I don’t fight back and then
you think I’m a good girl?”
Brian was stunned, momentarily at a loss for words.
Cornelia let out a small laugh. I’ve never intended to hurt anyone, or even thought about how to harm you. Today,
I’ve merely been responding to your provocations If anyone’s scary, it’s you. Now you’re saying I’m scary. Is it
because I’m not scared of you? Or because I’m not a weak girl who just lets others bully her?”
“I didn’t really want to do anything to you. 1 just wanted to test you.” Brian said.

Brian said, “If you’re going back, we’ll go with you.”

Brian insisted, “This is the suburbs. There’s no public transport to the city. It’s not safe for a young, beautiful girl like
you to take a cab alone.”
“There’s no need for you to worry. I have my own way back. Cornelia took out her phone and dialed Ayden’s
number, “Ayden, are you there?”

in advance and let them in. Why didn’t you say so earlier?”
“Thanks for your kindness, but I don’t need it.” Cornelia waved at Brian, then walked away with confident strides,
“Goodbye”
Brian said, “Goodbye!”
As soon as Cornelia left, Wyatt, Alexa and Emily quietly gathered behind Brian.
Wyatt said, “Did we just shoot ourselves in the foot?”
Alexa said, “I admire the tenacity in this girl, I think it’s very similar to Grandpa Augustine’s spirit.”
