Demetra had failed toplete the mission Greensource Corp had given him, and thus there was no way he was getting out alive.
Greensource Corp never gave second chances to anyone who failed. They had always operated this way. They gave people one
chance, and those people who joined
Greensource Corp would have no choice but to do as they were told or lose that only chance.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThere was only one consequence to losing your chance—death.
Miyah finally understood the severity of the situation. Despite having lived in Cametra for twenty years, the real reason she could

somewhere else. Can we do that, Demetra?"
Demetra shook his head. "That's no use. You know what Greensource Corp is capable of, don't you? The only way that might work
at all is if you leave first. I'll stay until everything's settled ande looking for you."
"But... What if..." Miyah sobbed.
Demetra put a hand on Miyah's shoulder. "Be strong, Miyah. We've gone through so much in our lives and know how cruel this
world can be. We'd both be dead in a week if we left together. However, if you leave first, I'll have one less thing to worry about.

Miyah stopped crying at Demetra's words. He slipped the ring onto her finger, pulling her into his arms.
There was no applause, and hardly anyone even noticed them. The couple seemed to be on a different pl then, their hearts
beating as one as they stared lovingly into each other's eyes.
