Lawrence tried to refute but could not find the words. He was worried that Wilbur might fail this test. There were two goals of the
hybrid formation: to provide the people of Wrecknam with water, and also as a test for Wilbur.
If Wilbur passed the test, he would naturally obtain the dragon cauldron fragment. However, that did not really matter to Lawrence
as his priority was whether or not the two hundred thousand people of Wrecknam would continue to have water.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtArter all, if Wilbur ended up damaging the formation but failing the test, the underground river would not have the formation to
lead it to Wrecknam. The city's underground water supply would eventually dry up, and Wrecknam would face its fourth mass
death calamity.
Human beings could not survive without water, and this was a desert city with no greenery. Factoring in the relentless rays of the
sun, anyone in Wrecknam who went without water for five hours would lose consciousness due to dehydration.
The only contact Wrecknam had with the rest of the world was by plane. They could send a portion of the population out of the city
by plane, but the city's population was two hundred thousand people. All of Kosanto's fifty planes had a maximum capacity of a
hundred people each.
Flying all of Wrecknam's inhabitants out by plane was an impossible task, and they would die if the main formation was destroyed.
Lawrence did not want another mass death to happen, which was why he prayed for Wilbur to pass the test.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmKennard could tell what Lawrence was thinking and said, "Don't worry, Lawrence. | have faith in Wilbur passing this test."
