Chapter 208
Luckily, the snake looked like it was about to slither right over her hiking boots.
At that moment, Dexter's voice rang out. "Angela! Angela!"
His voice was urgent, filled with anxiety.
Angela wanted to curse out loud. She was doomed!
Thankfully, the snake quickly slithered away, leaving no trace behind.
The relieved Angela momentarily forgot everything else and bolted toward Dexter.
She ran the 100 feet like she was being chased by a monster.
"What happened to you?" Dexter immediately noticed her pale face and grabbed her wrist.
Angela's legs felt like jelly. She glanced behind her, still feeling as if something was following her.
"There... T-There was... a snake..." she stammered, unable to form a complete sentence. "Let's go now!"
Dexter's face darkened. "You saw a snake? Did it hurt you? Did it bite you?"
Angela shook her head frantically. "No, it didn't. Let's just go quickly. Please, carry me... My legs feel like jelly..."
By the end, her voice took on a tearful tone.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDexter had no choice but to crouch down and let her climb onto his back. Angela clung tightly to his neck, her
blood still cold from the fright.
"Are you okay? Look at how scared you are. Who said you could wander off earlier?" Dexter asked.
"Shut up," Angela snapped, tightening her grip on his neck. "If you say one more word, I'll-"
"Strangle me? Then you won't survive either," Dexter retorted with a smirk.
His moved swiftly. In less than an hour, they had reached the foot of the mountain via the small path.
They went straight to the hospital at the base of the mountain, where they disinfected Angela's wounds and got
her a rabies vaccine.
Angela even took a nap at the hospital.
By the tshe woke up, feeling refreshed, Fiona and the others had just arrived
at the hospital after making their way down the mountain.
"Are you okay? Is it serious? Did you get the shot?" Fiona rushed over the moment she saw Angela.
"Don't worry. I'm perfectly fine."
Seeing Fiona's worried face warmed
Angela's heart. "Relax, even if | did
get rabies, | wouldn't bite you
Fiona shot her a glare. "Stop joking around. Are we still going to the farm-to-table restaurant later? I've already
made reservations. The food's probably ready by now."
Without any hesitation, Angela answered, "Of course we're going. We're already here anyway."
She wasn't going to let her mishap ruin everyone else's fun.
"You're really something else, huh?" Dexter suddenly remarked.
His tone was strange, and it was hard to tell if it was a question or a sarcastic remark.
Angela ignored him and let Fiona and Joanne help her into the car. With that, the group set off for the restaurant.
Dexter was the one driving as usual, whereas Angela was in the front passenger
seat.
Angela caught a glimpse of Finn's worried face in the rearview mirror and, feeling bad, sent him a message
saying she was fine.
Finn's phone buzzed shortly after. He glanced at the message before finally smiling.
When they arrived at their
destination, the restaurant had

for them to grill themselves so that they could enjoy the experience.
Right then, Angela's stomach growled with hunger.
She ate a grilled mushroom and then a piece of grilled fish, savoring the flavors
so much that her dopamine levels skyrocketed.
"Eat slower; there's plenty for you. Don't choke," Fiona said as she handed Angela two more skewers of
mushrooms.
At that moment, a server brought out a long metal tray with two long pieces of meat on it. It was hard to tell
what kind of meat it was.
"Dear guests, this is our latest specialty, grilled snake meat. You can—"
