Sean's smile deepened, his gaze softening with affection as it rested on Norah's peaceful face. His enigmatic Norah-so utterly reliant on him-was his deepest love.

The setting sun painted the western sky with strokes of red and orange, creating a breathtaking tableau. When Norah finally stirred, she blinked sleepily at the darkening sky.

Rubbing her eyes, she murmured, "Have we arrived?" Realizing the car had stopped and the driver's seat was empty, Norah becfully alert. She heard the soft breathing of the three others in the car.

Turning away from the window, she sought to identify the silent figures in the back.

Norah was startled to see three faces squeezed close together, their eyes gleaming as they gazed at her. "What are you all doing? Is this a rest area? Why is everyone still in the car?" Susanna responded with exaggerated solemnity, "Yes, and no." Joanna quickly added, "We stopped here because Sean has a surprise planned for you." Norah's imagination sparked. “Could it be that he realized I'm hungry and prepared a grand meal? If that's the case, tears of joy will surely pour from my eyes." Her jest clearly delighted them, and they erupted into laughter. Alyssa, containing herself for a moment, finally spoke up. "If you want to uncover the surprise, you'll just have to go and see for yourself." Norah nodded, her curiosity now fully piqued. "Alright, let's go check it out. Were you all waiting here this whole twhile I rested?" "Absolutely, it's all about you, after all," Susanna explained, holding up a black blindfold. "Sean insisted that for the full effect of the surprise, you need to wear this." Believing the surprise was indeed a feast, Norah agreed without hesitation. “Okay, let's make it quick." Susanna exchanged a knowing glance with Joanna, signaling that Norah might be misinterpreting the surprise as a meal. Joanna shrugged, indicating it was out of her control.

From the side, Alyssa urged, "Hurry up, let's get going." Alyssa's encouragement only solidified Norah's suspicions about the elaborate dinner. Was Sean orchestrating this entire affair just to astonish her after their intimate afternoon? Norah wasn't one to fuss over small things, yet the effort Sean had put into crafting such an elaborate surprise touched her deeply.

Blindfolded, she could see nothing, which sharpened her other senses. Memories of past experiences that had honed her awareness now flooded back as Alyssa and another person firmly guided her by the hands. Her steps were confident and steady.

The murmur of breathing filled the air around her, mingling with the persistent aroma of roses. Couldn there be a rose garden nearby? En Alyssa's voice, soft and soothing, floated to her ears. “We're almost there. Just a few more steps. Yes, right here!" When the blindfold coff, a burst of light welcomed her back to sight.

Norah blinked away the brightness, and as her vision cleared, words escaped her.

At the foot of a staircase, she stood, a red carpet unrolling before her leading upwards.
