Chapter 122 Discover Her Affair!

After receiving the second IV infusion, Erin finally woke up due to the urge to relieve herself. The

moment she woke, she fell disoriented. weak in her limbs, and had a throbbing headache. Her hazy

gaze landed on the man beside her, and Erin’s brain momentarily thought she was seeing things.

Roman, dressed in his set costume, was looking at her at that moment. His voice was gentle and

mellow as he asked, “How do you feel?”

He’d been afraid of missing the timing for the IV drip and hadn’t dared rest his eyes for even a moment.

Erin laughed feebly. “Looks like I’m in the hospital… I’m so sorry for troubling you.”

He replied. “Yeah, I’ve even stopped filming. If I don’t see an improvement in your condition, I’ll feel

uneasy about going back to work. So, you have to actively accept treatment and eat well, okay?”

Roman’s tone was relaxed with a hint of playful reproach. Erin’s ears burned a little from

embarrassment as he said that, but her eyes became moist, and they reddened after a few seconds.

When Roman saw the tears flow from the corners of her eyes down her cheeks,

those two glistening teardrops seared his heart.

He pulled out two tissues from the cabinet and handed them to her free hand without the IV drip

attached. “Why are you crying? You’re

acting like a child. Do you want me to sing to comfort you?”

This made Erin laugh. “I’m not a child… I’m just very louched. You, my boss, are sacrificing your

precious filming time to accompany an insignificant employee in the hospital. Are you that afraid of

people accusing you of mistreating your employee?”

Roman replied helplessly, “Yeah, I’m indeed afraid. I’m afraid of what the reporters might write.”

Erin smiled and remained silent. She knew he understood that she was joking, and he countered her

question with a joke of his own too.

She wiped away her tears and said, “Roman, you should go back to the set. I’m fine, I can handle

myself in the hospital.”

“I’ve already said that I won’t feel at ease if you don’t recover. Don’t say anything more. Now, close

your eyes and rest well. If you’re hungry, I’ll have Ken buy you something to eat. What do you want?”

Erin shook her head. Even though her mind was a bit hazy due to the fever, her memory was intact.

She instantly remembered the news of Chandler and Alana’s engagement. Now, in her weakened

physical and mental state, her tears flowed uncontrollably.

Erin closed her eyes, trying to stop herself from crying, but the tears continued to fall. Roman

understood very well why she was crying.

He didn’t know how to comfort her. Erin had already told him that she wouldn’t be Chandler’s mistress.

So, even if Chandler’s engagement banquet was just a formality, even if there was no real love

between him and Alana, that didn’t make a difference to Erin. An engaged fiancée had a legitimate

status all things considered, and Erin refused to be Chandler’s secret lover.

Her love for Chandler didn’t have to be grand, but she didn’t want to stoop down to such a low level

when it came to loving him. If she had to compromise her dignity and principles to love someone, she

would rather stay single for the rest of her life.

In the end, Roman said, “Letting go of a relationship that hurts you would be wiser than holding on to it.

What’s meant for you will eventually belong to you.”

Erin remained silent and feeling down in the dumps until she sat up straight abruptly. Roman nervously

asked, “What’s wrong?”

Blushing, she choked out, “I really need to use the restroom.”

Three days later, after recovering from her illness, Erin returned to the set.

Roman had accompanied her in the hospital for two consecutive days. He was usually dedicated to his

work; but this time, he’d caused delays in the filming process. The director secretly expressed his

discontent about this.

After all it wasn’t Roman himself who was sick, nor was it his family, his wife, or his girlfriend. Erin was

just his assistant! Roman personally accompanying her got many crew members on the set talking as

they felt that it was abnormal.

The rumors circulating in secret became more and more intense. As a result, those who wanted to

curry favor with Roman became even more attentive to Erin. Who knew what their real relationship was

behind closed doors? Of course, these were all speculations.

Erin maintained her initial attitude toward gossip and rumors–by ignoring them, playing dumb, and

pretending not to know.

Otherwise, as Roman said, if she took it seriously and felt the need to explain herself to everyone, she

wouldn’t last a month in this environment. Therefore, Erin had come to terms with the nature of this

industry and decided to be less concerned in order to be happier.

Because of Roman’s care when she was sick, Erin was even more motivated to memorize her lines

well. Roman told her that if she could fluently recite all her lines and act alongside him, that would be

the best reward for him. Erin worked even harder because of this.

Now, at 3 pm, after eating an ice lolly, Erin went to the west wing of the set in the studio alone.

Originally, that part of the studio was under renovation and not open to the public yet. As there mustn’t

be any noise during filming, the west wing was closed off.

However, Roman had connections and could make special arrangements. He gave Erin a key to one of

the bedrooms in the west wing and said that if she was interested, she could go there and quietly

practice her lines.

With nothing better to do, Erin went.

After opening the door of the hall she walked in and saw the luxurious bedroom that had a large soft

bed inside. Initially, she thought. about lying down and taking a nap there, but she realized it wouldn’t

be appropriate if someone came in and saw her. So, she chose to rest behind the folding screen and

found a soft cushion to sit on the floor and start rehearsing her lines.

Even though it was scorching hot outside, the spacious west wing was relatively cool since there were

no people or filming equipment. It

was much cooler than Roman’s dressing room.

Unknowingly, she’d been reading for about twenty minutes when she started to feel sleepy and dozed

off. A dozen minutes later, in a daze,

Erin heard a conversation between a man and a woman.

“Percival no one will come in here, right?”

“They won’t here. See, I have the key. As long as we lock the door, no one can enter…”

Erin opened her eyes and became more alert. She recognized the voices of the man and woman–it

was none other than the famous

actress Megan and the actor playing another prince, Percival Lowe.

For a moment, she didn’t know whether to speak up and interrupt them or pretend she didn’t hear

anything. Before she could make a

choice, Megan and Percival were already walking briskly toward the soft bed.

With a thud, Percival pushed Megan onto the soft bed, and soon Erin heard the rustling sound of

clothes being taken off.

Erin sat there in an extremely awkward and stiff position. How audacious! They actually chose this

place for their rendezvous. Erin raised

an eyebrow. It was plain as day to her that Megan was cheating on Simon.

Erin couldn’t help but think of her best friend, Holly. If Simon could see Megan’s true colors, maybe he

would break up with her, and Holly might have a chance. She picked up her phone from the ground and

very carefully turned it on. Fortunately, she’d kept her phone on silent since joining the crew.

Erin activated the recording function.

Twenty minutes later, the intense sounds on the soft bed ceased.

Breathing heavily, Percival chuckled and asked, “Does Simon, that idiot, still insist on no intimacy

before marriage?”

“Don’t mention him to me. Just thinking about him makes me angry! I’ve tried to initiate sex three times

in a row, but he refuses to be intimate with me! Damn it! It really hurts my esteem, you know?” Megan

complained angrily as she dressed herself.

“Could it be that he’s interested in men? After all, with a beauty like you, I can’t wait even a minute

Percival’s flattering words made. Megan act coquettishly and say. “You’re so annoying! Actually, he’s

just very conservative, I guess.”

“Why don’t you be with me instead? Is it fun being with someone so devoid of passion? Even if you

marry into the wealthy Frost family, so what?”

At this point, Megan had finished tidying up herself. She stood up and answered with a sigh. “Percival,

we agreed before that once I get engaged to Simon, we would end this relationship. If you mention

anything unrelated to me again, we shall never see each other anymore.”
