"Can I help you, Miss Starling?"

Aurora was a little hurt by Vicky’s coldness toward her.

"Vicky, do you blame me for what happened?"

"No. You had nothing to do with it."

Aurora drooped gloomily. "Vicky, I know whatever I say now will just sound like an excuse to you. It's true that I have

no right to come to see you, but after thinking it through, I decided to come here and explain everything to you. I
