He could not help but look at Ava a few more times. The joy and excitement in his heart were surging fiercely, but

“Why were you at the hospital, Miss Long?” Neil asked again.
Ava pursed her lips and smiled. “I had something to take care of. By the way, why were you there as well, Doctor?”
“I was specially invited to give a lecture,” Neil explained.
“Doctor, you’re so busy, yet you still need to take time out to check on Danny’s condition. Thanks for the trouble.”
Ava thanked him very politely.
“It’s no trouble at all. You’re my fam—” Neil almost blurted out that she was his family member, but he hurriedly
stopped himself. “I mean, after being a doctor for so many years, I’ve long regarded patients as my family. I'll feel
happy and have a sense of purpose whenever they recover.”

“Dr. Long, you’re indeed an angel in white. You have such noble medical ethics too,” Ava praised. “Right, I wanted
to look for you and tell you something. I’ve already made an appointment with my boyfriend. He’ll be able to meet

Neil agreed without hesitation. “It's absolutely fine. You can bring your boyfriend to the same hospital just now. It
just so happens that Ill be in this hospital for half a day tomorrow.”

time comes.”
She said and pointed to the subway station entrance in front. “Dr. Long, you can just stop in front. I can take the
subway back by myself.”
“You don’t need to go through all the trouble. I'll take you home.” Neil continued to step on the accelerator as he
explained, “I need to go meet Tom anyway, so your place will be on the way.” Ava understood what Neil meant. He
was going to take her to the apartment near her company. However, she did not stay in that apartment. It was just
that she had been there for the past two days.
Ava wanted to explain but she stopped herself. Instead, she just thanked Neil.
Normally, the trip would only take about 20 minutes, but the journey felt longer today.
When the car stopped, Ava spotted Raegan walking over with what seemed to be groceries that she had just
bought.
“Miss Long, that looks like your mother.” Neil reminded.
Ava spotted Raegan. She wanted to go back home after she got out of the car, but she did not expect to run into
Raegan.
“Yeah, it's my mother.” Ava was ina dilemma, but she finally chose to get out of the car.
Raegan was very surprised to see Ava, but she was also thrilled.
