Chapter 2324

Ava suddenly went straight to the topic. Raegan and Neil were frozen for a moment. After the two exchanged

glances, they both lowered their eyes silently. They seemed to blame themselves and feel regretful over it, but at

the same time, they did not know how to start explaining.

Their reactions made Ava even more puzzled. “ I’ve been alone for so many years. Every time I saw other students

being picked up by their parents when I went to school and came back, it puzzled me why my parents abandoned

me.”

What Ava said made Raegan and Neil contemplate even more. They then fell into deeper remorse. “Over the years,

I really hated you two and never had the thought of reconciling with you. Why did you abandon me when you

wanted to and then acknowledge me again when you felt like it? I feel like a toy that comes and goes as you

please.” “No, Ava. How could that be? How can youbea toy? You’re the apple of your father’s and my eyes,”

Raegan hurriedly explained. That strong woman who was always so calm on the outside was at a loss right now

when she was being questioned by Ava. Even her explanation sounded incoherent.

“Then why did you both leave me on the same day?” Ava found it incomprehensible, and this question had been

sitting in her heart for more than ten years.

“I’ve persuaded myself to calm down and listen to your explanations, so why are you still hesitating? There’s no

explanation at all, right? The fact is that you felt that my existence hindered your lives and you would have better

opportunities after leaving me. One of you became the richest woman in a country while the other became an

expert in a medical field. After abandoning me, both of you became amazing people, right?”

After saying these words, Ava started to become emotional.

She felt more and more like a joke as she recalled the years she spent living like an orphan. She would never forget

that she was a child abandoned by her parents on the streets.

Raegan and Neil felt as if their hearts had been struck hard when they saw that Ava had misunderstood them. Their

eyes turned red, and Raegan could not hold back her tears anymore. She hurriedly walked to Ava's side. She

wanted to hold Ava's hand to comfort her, but Ava avoided her. Then, Ava chuckled coldly with red eyes.

“I was so naive. Why should a child who was abandoned by her parents have any kind of fantasies? Why should I

expect you to tell me that you had your reasons for abandoning me back then?”

“Ava, it’s not what you think,” Neil quickly explained as well. His heart was hurting, and he felt helpless.

Ava took a deep breath and asked after calming herself, “Alright. Let me ask you a question, then. Did you

purposely abandon me on the streets back then? Did you purposely lie to me telling me that you’d buy me

something tasty so you could leave me all alone?”

Raegan and Neil were silent as they faced Ava’s questioning.

However, less than two seconds later, Neil came back to his senses and explained, “Ava, it’s not what you think—”

“Your silence just now is the best answer,” Ava interrupted Neil, a bitter smile appearing on the corners of her lips.

“It seems that I shouldn’t have made this trip.”

After she said this, Ava walked to the door.

“Ayal"

“Ava, Ava!”

Neil and Raegan called out to Ava to try to make her stay, but Ava stormed out of the door. Her determination to

leave was too strong.

Raegan felt extremely remorseful as she started bawling.

Neil went over to hold Raegan’s shoulders and pull her into his arms.

“One day, our daughter will forgive you.”

“No, she won’t.” Raegan did not agree, falling into deep remorse and unease. “I did purposely leave her alone on

the streets. I watched her small figure on the street, and she looked so lost when she was looking for me. I watched

her look for her parents and just left without turning back.”

When she recalled what had happened back then, Raegan’s heart was as painful as if it had been stabbed by

countless needles.

“There’s nothing to explain. Back then, I did leave our daughter...”

When Raegan said this, Neil also fell into a long silence.
