Karen knew Naya’s mother because they would always see each other in their circle of rich women. Now that
Naya’s mother was pointing and screaming at Madeline, she naturally got up to protect Madeline.
“Mrs. Mendez, why are you pointing at my daughter- in-law and screaming at her? How did my daughter- in-law and
her friend offend you?”
