Suddenly, his phone rang.
It was Jason.
John answered it and put it next to his ear. “What is it?”
Jason said, “Sir, Ada Wright and Carl Sager got into a big argument in front of the Sagers’ office this morning. She’s
trying to be with Carl but got rejected in front of a crowd. Madam was there when that happened, but she watched
from a corner. Ada spotted her and shouted at her, but she ignored her and left.”
John went silent for a moment. “Ada Wright? Ron Wright’s niece?”
“Yes. You ordered us to keep an eye out for Ron Wright’s movements, and we spotted Ada being thrown out of the
mansion by Ron’s new wife. Ron did not even try to hold her back. She stayed in a five-star hotel for a night and
went straight to Carl this morning.

After the call, John turned to Caprice.

John smiled as he walked over.
“Daddy…” Caprice could barely keep her eyes open yet she reached out to him with her tiny hands.
John carried the girl into his arms and comforted her, “Daddy’s here. Sleep if you are tired.”
Caprice leaned on his shoulder and fell asleep soon enough.
The apartment returned to peace and quiet.
John paced around the house with the sleeping Caprice for a while. After a while, he put her into the room and
tucked her in.
He then said to Aunt Wanda, “I’m going out. If Caprice wakes up and I’m not back, tell her I’ll be back with her
Mommy.”
Aunt Wanda said with a smile, “I understand.”
John went out.
The weather was great for a stroll by the beach. He walked past a florist and bought a fresh bouquet of roses
before he took a ride to the Sagers’ office.
The sky was already dark when Sherry finished work. She stayed back for an extra half an hour just to tidy up

Thinking about Caprice back at home, she walked out of the office and headed to the elevator. When she arrived on
the first floor, the door opened and Sherry walked out.
Coincidentally, she ran into Carl, who was walking towards her from the other side in a handsome suit. He had
buttoned his collar properly and shoved the usual rose from the chest away, making him look more professional
than a playboy.
He smiled at Sherry. “Sis, are you going home?”
Sherry hummed a reply.
Carl walked up to her. “I’m done as well. I’ll drive you home.”
Sherry immediately said, “It’s okay. My car is just outside.”
Gossip in the office said that she tried to tempt him, so there was no way she would let him drive her back, even if
she did not drive.
Disheartened, Carl’s eyes flickered. He forced a smile on his face and said, “Okay”
Sherry walked past him and headed to the door.
Carl followed her from a distance, but he only followed her to the entrance Standing in front of the glass door, he
looked towards the parking lot and scoffed scornfully.
