Chapter 1894

She spoke with a certain bluntness. Her eyes were opened wide and her expression was darling.

Flint remarked with a squint, “It must be pretty boring.”

Caprice refuted his point, “No, I hang out regularly with Frey. Piper and her brother came back a little while ago, so

we hang out together every night.”

Flint stirred. He glanced at Isabel before asking, “Who is Piper? Who is her brother?”

“Piper is also my roommate. I’ve known her and her brother for a decade by this point. All of us are very close

friends.”

“Oh? Are they from Glanchester too?”

“Yes.”

Flint continued to ask tidbits about Piper and Trey while Caprice answered everything with stark honesty.

Until Sylvia interrupted Flint at one point, “Okay, enough talk about that. Why don’t you head up and see what your

brother and father are talking about?”

“Okay, Mom.” Flint did as he was told. He rose and went upstairs.

Sylvia turned to Isabel, “Isabel, let me talk to Caprice alone. Why don’t you go upstairs and join them as well?”

Isabel smiled knowingly, she had a sense of what her mother was up to. With that, she went upstairs.

Immediately after she left, Sylvia turned to Caprice, “Caprice, you’ve been in Westchester for so many days

already. Haven’t you hung out with Liam?”

Caprice would love to, but Liam had a girlfriend. She knew she could not let it slip about his having a girlfriend, so

she tried to brush the subject off. “He’s always so busy. I didn’t want to bother him.”

“He’s not that busy these days,” Sylvia said with a look at Caprice. “Besides, I remember you always went to see

him a few years back, and that was during the peak of his busy schedule since he had just founded Carter Tech City

then.”

“That’s different.”

“What’s different about it?”

Caprice lowered her head. “I… I was a child at the time. I wasn’t being considerate.”

Sylvia gently caressed her hair. “Caprice, tell your aunt the truth. Do you have a crush on some boy?”

“No,” Caprice answered hastily, then she quipped a look at Sylvia. “Aunt Sylvia, what made you ask me this?”

Sylvia peered into her clear and sincere eyes. She smiled and answered, “I was just asking because it seemed like

you had something on your mind.”

“Oh.” Caprice smiled warmly at her. “I ran into a little bit of a situation yesterday. Everything is okay. now since Liam

stepped in and helped me. Everything is okay now.”

Sylvia smiled faintly. “Good.”

After a while, Isabel came down again and invited Caprice to the gaming room with her.

They used to play video games together all the time. Although Caprice was never too fond of video games, she had

sweet memories of watching Liam and Isabel play.

They hung out in the gaming room for some time.

At one point, the door was pushed open, and in came Liam’s tall figure.

Isabel and Flint immediately put down the game controllers and dropped their playful banter.

Liam glanced at them, then his eyes landed on Caprice. “It’s time to eat.”

“Okay.” Caprice got up and walked out.

Isabel and Flint exchanged glances, then they went downstairs as well.

The housemaids were setting the dining table.

When Odell and Sylvia noticed the kids, they rose from the couch and joined them at the dining table.

Everyone sat down.

Flint settled next to Odell, and Isabel sat next to Sylvia. The two remaining spots were reserved for Caprice and

Liam.

Liam pulled out a chair and sat.

Caprice hesitated briefly before pulling the chair next to his and taking her seat.

Suddenly, she felt four pairs of eyes on her. All four of Sylvia, Odell, Isabel, and Flint were looking at her. There was

what seemed like apprehension in their eyes.

She was puzzled by this and asked in a low voice, “What’s wrong?”

Sylvia hesitated to speak.

Isabel pursed her lips and seemed like she was stifling the urge to say something.
