Chapter 1945

She was not in the mood to entertain Heather and briskly walked past her.

"Hey, Caprice," Heather called after her in a mocking friendly voice.

The people gawking at Heather immediately directed their attention to Caprice.

Caprice could no longer ignore her presence. She turned to greet her, imitating her cheap smile the entire while.

"Hey, Heather, what brings you here?"

Heather's mouth suddenly stiffened. She briskly approached Caprice and greeted her with an unnatural warmth, "I

just figured I'd come to see you since I haven't seen you in a while. I was beginning to miss you!”

Caprice was struck speechless.

How did she manage to say things like this without throwing up?

Did she have amnesia? Did she already forget about what happened the last time they met when she shoved her

into the pool?

She answered crossly, without the least bit of friendliness, "That's too bad.

I was just on my way to see Liam. I don't have time to catch up with you.”

She mentioned Liam with a smug smile, and even the tone of her voice was piqued slightly when she spoke his

name. She was aware of the effect this had on Heather.

Heather's complexion darkened just as she expected.

Even with the sunglasses covering her eyes, Caprice could sense the way her gaze hardened.

Caprice had brought up Liam intentionally to rattle her. She deserved this; there was no reason for her to be here in

the first place!

Heather swallowed a mouthful of rage and put on her pictorial smile again.

"Are you dating Liam now? Congratulations!"

Caprice answered with a sarcastic smile, "It's all thanks to you. If you hadn't shoved me into the pool at the party

last time, I wouldn't have known that he’s been single this entire time."

She had zero intention of holding back her punches since Heather brought this upon herself.

Heather pursed her lips tightly as if she had accidentally swallowed something unbearably sour. It looked like she

could not strain any words out of her even if she had tried.

Caprice was done wasting time with her and decided to drop the conversation right there. "Heather, I'll be leaving

for now if you don't have anything else to tell me."

She turned around without waiting for a response.

"There's going to be a dinner party that’s held annually in Westchester this coming weekend. Did you hear about

it?" Heather suddenly grabbed her attention. She spoke with an air of condescension and haughtiness this time.

Caprice had to do a double-take. "What dinner party?"

Heather suddenly began chuckling mockingly. She made it seem like Caprice was a country bumpkin that had never

heard of anything in the city.

"Hasn’t Liam told you about it?" she asked with a wry smile.

Caprice was confused now, "Why would he tell me about it?"

"All the people attending the dinner party are the industry leaders of all the different sectors in Westchester, their

family members will be invited as well." Heather allowed herself a dramatic pause before resuming, "I

thought you've known Liam your entire life? Hasn’t he told you about it?"

Caprice grimaced.

It was clear as day that Heather was insulting her.

Despite that, she hardly felt anything.

Now that Heather mentioned it, she began to have a vague impression of this annual dinner party. The tradition

started a little over a decade ago, and her parents would attend religiously every year. She never wanted to attend

because she was not interested in such business-oriented events.

Heather took Caprice's silence to mean that she had been stumped by her ignorance. She was very pleased with

how she managed to turn the situation around.

She commented, "Well, since you're dating Liam now, I'm sure he will bring you along."

Sensing that she was trying to skirt around the topic as she always did, Caprice confronted her snappily, "What are

you trying to say?"

Heather smiled. "It's nothing, I just want to ask if you will go to this dinner party. After all, the people who can go to

this event are all big names in the industry. If you can go with Liam, a lot of people will begin to know about you as

well. That is, if Liam remembers to bring you with him, but I'm sure he will, considering how much he cares about

you."

Caprice knew what Heather was hinting at now. She was indirectly suggesting that Liam would have brought her to

the dinner party if he cared about her.

Several dark creases appeared on her forehead.

Did this wretched woman come all the way here just to tell her something as ridiculous as this?

"Anyway, I hope I'll see you this weekend!" Heather said with a wry smile before excusing herself.
