Chapter 163 Picking Up Nancy From Work

During lunch, Nancy and Toni sat across from each other, eating in silence. It wasn’t until Julian Jadin left that Toni

finally felt relieved and let out a sigh.

Then, she started talking excitedly. “Nancy, you scared me earlier. Mr. Jadin, whose full name is Julian Jadin, is the

youngest deputy director of our hospital, so everyone calls him Mr. Jadin.”

Nancy fell silent. It was only now that she realized she had misheard Toni’s words and misunderstood. them.

“I’m in trouble,” Nancy lamented. She had managed to offend an important person on her first day of work. Now,

He was just curious why Nicholas was leaving work so early today. That man had been a workaholic lately, so what

happened today that made him leave work early?

Arriving at the hospital, Nicholas parked his car outside.

The hospital had a large entrance, and besides the main entrance, there were also two small doors on both sides.

After parking his car, he walked in through the small door on the left. Just as he was about to reach the entrance,

he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. Nancy? Does she know I’m coming and deliberately came to pick me up?

He squinted his eyes, staring intently at Christian. Then, Nicholas watched as the two left together, side by side,

right in front of him, heading into the hospital.

There was a coffee shop inside the hospital. While it wasn’t very large, the decoration was still quite nice, and most

importantly, the coffee here was said to be delicious.

Once they arrived at the shop, Nancy immediately ordered their coffee. Since it was already the end of the

workday, the shop wasn’t very crowded, so she received the coffee shortly after placing her order.

While handing Christian the coffee, she apologized, saying, “I’m sorry. Since I was supposed to treat you, I should

have come to find you instead. But in the end, you came all the way here to find me.”

“No worries. This place isn’t far from where I work, so it’s quite convenient for me to come here.”

While drinking coffee, he asked, “Why are you here in the hospital? Is it because you haven’t fully recovered yet?”

Her complexion didn’t look as good as before, and she seemed a bit pale.

Nancy shook her head. “No, I’m much better now. Today is my first day working here.”

Upon hearing that, Christian was quite surprised. For a moment, a hint of astonishment flashed in his deep eyes.

“Excuse me for not knowing. We’ve known each other for so long, yet I had no idea you were

a medical student.”

“It’s not your fault. I never mentioned it, either. Besides, I was still in school at the time, so you probably just

naturally assumed I was just a student.”

They chatted for a while longer.

obvious that she took good care of herself because although she was already in her later years, she still looked

charming. Immediately after, a tall and elegant man followed her to the table.

When the man sat down, Nancy immediately felt awkward. The man was none other than Julian, whom she had just

talked about at noon. What’s more, their seats were directly facing each other, and she could clearly see his face

from her table.

Seeing her biting the straw several times and looking so uneasy. Christian asked with concern, “What’s wrong?”

“Our hospital’s director just came in, and he’s sitting right across from me. I’m thinking about whether or not to go

over and greet him,” Nancy said truthfully.

After considering for a moment, Christian gave his suggestion. “Today is your first day at work. If he recognizes you

and remembers you, then it’s a good idea to say hello. But it won’t make much of a difference if he doesn’t

remember you at all.”

“We’ve met before, so I should greet him.”

After finishing her coffee, Nancy nervously bit her straw to alleviate her anxiety and stress. Taking a deep breath,

she gathered the courage to approach Julian and stopped in front of him, offering a smile as she greeted, “Hello,

Mr. Jadin!”

However, the atmosphere seemed to instantly become silent.

Nancy thought, It seems that Mr. Jadin doesn’t remember me. Should I be glad? Does that mean he didn’t hear

anything I said this afternoon? With this thought, she suddenly felt less embarrassed and even somewhat pleased.

“Mhmm!” Julian simply nodded as if it were nothing unusual..

Upon receiving a response, Nancy considered turning around and leaving immediately.

Suddenly, the woman standing beside Julian spoke up. “Please wait a moment.”
